They didn't even attempt to play the same boring stories they've played over and over for those other characters with devon. At least on Devon it might seem fresh and new. Why not give him the mentally ill stalking woman that Jack usually gets. Why not??!!

Here is a preview of some scenes for next week including a scene with Billy and Amanda:

According to a recap for Monday's show a drunk man will try and hit on Amanda. Billy will try and help her deal with him and they will talk a little. She will offer to buy him a drink but he will decline. Billy will also be disasstified about his current employment situation and will talk with Victoria about what options he should pursue next regarding his career. She will suggest he work at New Hope with Nick, but he will want to carve out his own niche.

Also, Nate and Amanda will interact some more and talk about her possibly staying in GC. She will tell Nate that Elena called her cold-hearted and warned him to stay away from her. Devon/Elena will ovehear this conversation and will have some heated words for Amanda. Devon will wonder why Nate/Amanda are hanging out and will accuse Amanda of helping swindle him out of his inheritance. Devon will tell Nate that Amanda came to town to defraud him, Amanda will walk away. (And later meet Billy). Nate will try and defend Amanda and Devon will say that she's been bought and paid for.

Nate will want to talk more with Devon and Elena about Amanda and Devon will say that as soon as he realized she looked like Hilary she should have left town. He will take a call and Elena will lay into Nate about getting closer to Amanda. Nate will tell her that when Devon looks at her he sees Hilary but that Nate doesn't. He says that he can't avoid Amanda because she looks like Hilary. Elena will tell him that she brought Colin to town and will tell him that if he's encouraging her to stay in GC, he's choosing sides.

Elena's behavior lately regarding Amanda does seem a bit OTT. She is being very critical/accusatory towards her and Amanda really hasn't shown any interest in Amanda (Or Devon) And she hasn't been bothering either one of them. She seems to like Nate. Elena could end up being a lot more unlikeable if she keeps getting Amanda's face without much of a good reason. I can understand her being suspicious regarding the the stuff with the will, but Amanda really isn't bothering her or Devon. It would be one thing if she was bothering them/acting like she wants Devon, but she's not. I'm seen some people say they think this is or could be shaping up to Lily vs Hilary 2.0.

Unless it's bothering Elena because of Nate's interest in Amanda. He's spent the last few months being the person she goes to to talk. They talk about Devon and her struggles with becoming a doctor. Now she can see how he's looking at Amanda, and she can't figure why it's upsetting her so much, so she's  turning her anger to Amanda, rather than herself.

I think that her behavior would make more sense if she did have some feelings for Nate/was jealous of his closeness with Amanda,  but I don't think they've been playing it like that. (Even in a she doesn't realize it way.) She has been bad mouthing Amanda to both Nate and Devon and just seems to want to complain about her in general. She even told Lola today that Amanda was a snake and warned her away from her, and Lola doesn't have any connection to Amanda/that situation.

A lot of people are saying that they think Elena is largely threatened because Amanda looks just like Hilary and it's causing her to be insecure. (Due to Devon's love for Hilary). I think that is a reason that would definitely make sense. But I don't know if or when Elena might be admit that. Right now they are just having her constantly talk bad about Amanda/warn people about her and IMO she's not looking good doing that. Especially being that Amanda isn't trying to bother her and isn't trying to go after or agitate Devon.

"What is past is prologue"

Amanda = Hilary

Nate = Devon

Elena = Lily

Devon = Cane

Trident (Billy) = Neil who will get with Amanda while Nate pines then fights for her

All the while Elena and Devon will be self righteous a$$ hats who play angst for the story. Mostly Elena the same way Lily did despite the fact that Elena doesn't have near the reason to hate Amanda that Lily did Hilary. Nor does she have that deep of a relationship with Nate to justify harassing him over who he chooses to dates unless she wants him herself...which takes us to the added bonus, Elena isn't related to Nate so the show can go there.

Mind you, this time around it won't have near the same results. That was the perfect unintentional storm, so to speak.

The show found some of its greatest success in years with the black cast telling that Hevon story. They will surely try to repeat it. But with Nate as leading instead of Devon because for whatever reason, TPTB doesn't want Bryton as a lead alongside Mishael.
