Alistair had Grace killed. Apparently she found that he was alive and hiding in Europe, so he ordered her death.

 

Why did Antonio leave town as a young man and change his name to Brian?

That was another one of the many stories on Passions that was just forgotten. But from what I remember, when Antonio was younger he would often pick up Pilar from the Crane mansion to take her home, and one night he saw Julian doing something. Julian then blackmailed Antonio over something that Antonio had done (we never knew what that was), and Antonio left town. Brian was his middle name and he started using that

That was Passions. A lot of stories were introduced and then forgotten

We still don’t know what the French drug cartel was blackmailing Hank with to kill Sheridan. That story was dropped when Dalton James was fired.
