This Politico "reporter," whose father follows various hatemongers like Kristi Noem and Libs of Tiktok, may be the most pathetic journalist I've seen on Twitter (which is saying a lot).

Hand-in-hand with the smugness and victim-playing are the pundits and flacks who continue to insist on a red wave and twist themselves into knots to downplay any breaks from the reality they are giving everything to make happen.

Watched this livestream and it was interesting to hear from these different executives in broadcast news toot their own proverbial horns about how their various networks’ news programs and the recent inroads they have made in ratings share.
The president of CBS News talked about the increasing popularity of that network’s morning news magazine show and how they cede the decision of when to interrupt regular daytime programming for breaking news to their affiliates to decide.

There was brief mention Days Of Our Lives being “bumped” to streaming.

Even PBS NewsHour talked about the impact of their decision to cover the counting of the electoral votes on January 6th 2021 and the insurrection that followed, despite the fact that PBS usually broadcasts children’s television during those time slots. It led to the decision to the expansion of breaking news coverage during the daytime.

The general consensus seemed to be that News and sports has become far more popular and there seems to be a bigger embrace of broadcasting both during the daytime.

I am not sure what their implications mean for daytime soaps, but I got the sense that the moving of Days Of Our Lives to Peacock is regarded as an afterthought, at least by the people in the news divisions.

The "paper of record" has hired yet another right wing mouthpiece who spent two years trying to dig up dirt on the Biden family, and is now reduced to trying to claim Biden lied about his father's education.

Never forget how much the establishment media hates this country and hates anyone who does not write them big checks.

I see he came from the New Yorker, which had a positive profile of DeSantis not long ago (the man who wrote this also goes on chummy podcasts to talk about him with DeSantis supporter and all around moron Andrew Sullivan). Glad I don't read them much anymore.

The "liberal" media is more interested in this  clown car than in any attempt at reality. Between this and clips out there of Dana Bash looking even more terrified than usual as Chris Sununu smarms out talking points, it's no wonder I keep seeing far right voters praising the new CNN. I hope people have finally woken up about just how wretched this channel is.

    • No to Andre/Ashley. I'm not sensing any connection. Kat is playing a dangerous game going against Silk Press Sheila.
    • Today was definite a good episode day with surprising 1:1 scenes between Bill/Silk Press Sheila & SPS/Kat.  And the final long scene between SPS/Kat with the close ups and cliffhanger reminds me so much of old school P & G/Bell soaps. It fits since Judy Tate (script writer) wrote for P & G soaps for years and Zimmerman (breakdown writer) worked on both Bell soaps. I even liked the Ashley/Derek scenes only because it feels as if there is a point to the scenes (lead up to a break up perhaps).  Andre/Ashley having a scene tells me that the show is still testing them out.. and I think showing the growing disconnect between Derek/Ashley will eventually lead to the two possibly dating. NuTed.. he seems more humble and less boastful/confident than the previous Ted.  Perhaps the show felt the previous Ted couldn't play remorse/humble.. and they made the switch.  Time will tell. Lastly... it was a Dani free day

    • Goulet also had an odd way of speaking - very clipped and brisk, like she had just gotten out of a '40s film. She sounded out of breath. She had this on all her soaps. She was a better actress than Tolan and did well enough with Mary's grief over her marriage in her final week or two in the part but had no real spark.  I agree they may have found a better Mary if they had tried harder. For some reason the recasting for the Ryan kids was never what it should have been. I don't know what was going on with Barbie Siobhan. Maybe that was ABC.
    • The finale peaked at 31.1 rating when Katherine hit Bobby with her car.
    • Exactly. And it's not like Stephanie didn't live a life when Hennig played her.  There are so many stories and relationships you can mine from her past.  And we just got......a book and sex with Alex or the random Bobby backstory which no one needed  I trust new writing can get the character back on track.  Like I said, I do think Abigail Klein has charisma.
    • Today (Thurs May 15) eppy not on paramount *menu* but it's on cbs.com. If you take the cbs episode URL and substituted paramountplus for cbs in the same URL, you get the episode on pplus https://www.cbs.com/shows/video/Huj7bAYV8H6T038u9cXam3bk6QXNkM2Y/ https://www.paramountplus.com/shows/video/Huj7bAYV8H6T038u9cXam3bk6QXNkM2Y/
    • Really good episode today. Even the characters who usually annoy me, like Chase and Brook Lynn, got some sweet scenes. I also appreciate that they're finally giving Lucky more to do, letting him in on Ric & Ava's blackmail scheme. And those Liz and Lucas scenes were fantastic;  Van Hansis has been bringing such playfulness to the role of Lucas, he brings out the best in scene partners like Laura Wright and Becky Herbst. It was also nice to get Liz's perspective on why her romantic rapprochment with Lucky is moving so slow; it makes perfect sense that she thinks he's not really capable of settling down, even if he wants to be with her.
    • I thought Keith did great as well. His scene with Colby was what sold me. He displayed the emotions that a man who knows he's made a mistake and wants to rectify should have. Its funny how Maurice has been given passes in his acting that other actors have not. What Keith has shown me is that he can atleast keep up with the ladies in his story instead of them acting circles around him when Maurice was playing the role.
    • Also Murder, She Wrote season 3 finale was the week before.
