I just looked up the character Brandee's story. from Jason47's episode recap archives. Brandee was a model who was part of the beginnings of the Sami/Austin/Carrie/Lucas story and the inspiration for Sami's bulimia. I can't recap in in a few sentences.  Brandee appeared in only 10 episodes in 1993 (first actress) and 2 episodes in 1994 (second actress), but Brandee had a big impact and was discussed even in episodes she didn't appear in. And yet she was treated like a nothing by Salem. It's a bit involved, so I'll put it behind a spoiler tag so that I don't take up too much room in @slick jones's thread.

This was back in the early days of Sami and Lucas - back when Sami wanted Austin, and Lucas wanted Carrie, so Lucas and Sami schemed together to get what each separately wanted.

Starts in June 1993 with Monet Mazur as Brandee.
Brandee was a teen model who worked for Titan like an adult, traveling internationally, and Kate was her boss.  Lucas also worked for Kate.  Lucas brought Brandee to a work party at the Horton House Center, and he suggested that Brandee get Austin's attention. Lucas' goal was to have Austin's attention drawn away from Carrie -- so that Lucas could go after Carrie.  Brandee introduced herself to Austin as "Brandee with two e's" and Austin replied that he was Austin "Reed with two e's".  Austin was clueless of course, and he didn't mind the flirting.   Sami was miffed at Lucas because Sami wanted Austin, but Lucas said don't worry, Brandee is our international model and is leaving soon for Barbados.

Meanwhile Carrie feels insecure due to the scar on her face.
Sami feels insecure because she's only 15 and interested in adult Austin. And also Sami perceives herself to be fat.

Sami is envious of how slender (skinny) Brandee is.  Sami gets into a conversation with Brandee.  Sami assumes that Brandee is around 25 years old and a glamorous woman, and assumes that this is how Brandee gets male attention.  Brandee explains she's not 25, she's still in high school, but she looks older because she lost her baby fat.  Brandee says you have to starve yourself in order to be attractive.

Austin brings Brandee as a date to a party.  Sami notices Brandee gorging on food, and then secretly notices that Brandee is vomiting in the bathroom. This is Sami's first exposure to bulimia but Sami hasn't tried it herself.

Austin and Brandee go to Lookout Point and make out. Sami's best friend Jamie hears about this and tells Sami.

Months ago, Sami had previously witnessed the John/Marlena conference table sex.
In the present, it's the Fourth of picnic 1993, Brandee isn't in these picnic episodes but plays a key role ...Sami and Carrie have a chat, and Sami tells Carrie she wishes she were pretty like Brandee, and Carrie says Brandee looks like a skeleton.  Marlena is still married to and living with Roman and is pregnant with Belle, and Roman thinks it's his baby. Sami overhears John and Marlena discussing the pregnancy and wondering who the father is.  Sami walks away without revealing herself, and freaks out.  She starts gobbling down food to suppress her emotions.  Then Sami realizes she has just eaten four plates of food. Sami decides that the only solution is to vomit like Brandee does, and this begins Sami's bulimia.

Later in the summer, Lucas tells Brandee what to do/say for his next scheme.  Brandee makes up a story and tells Austin she needs some support about a relative. Lucas arranges things so that Austin and Brandee are swimming at the lake at the cabin. Austin thinks he is simply cheering Brandee up and of course he is clueless.  Lucas brings Carrie to the lake so that Carrie sees Austin/Brandee swimming together.   Brandee sees Carrie and takers her aside, and confides to Carrie that she was there all night with Austin and they made love. (a lie).  Later back in town, Austin and Brandee hug in front of Lucas and Carrie. Carrie decides to try to make Austin jealous so Carrie kisses Lucas.  (but Carrie isn't into Lucas).

Weeks pass and Austin eventually learns that Carrie is being distant from him because Brandee claims they had sex.  Austin says it must be a misunderstanding and he tries to reach Brandee (in order to get Brandee to call Carrie to clear it up), but Brandee avoids Austin's attempts to contact her.

Weeks pass with Brandee threatening to tell Carrie and Austin the truth, unless Lucas gets her the Titan modeling photoshoot gig in Milan.  Lucas  convinces Kate to hire Brandee for Milan, but meanwhile one of Kate's staffers had previously hired a different model for Milan.  Lucas has to falsify/switch the contracts so that Kate accidentally signs Brandee to go to Milan.  This works, and Brandee leaves for Milan.
Weeks and weeks of repetitive conversations between Carrie and Austin about what did/didn't happen with Brandee.

January 1994 with Elaine Hendrix as the recast Brandee. Brandee has returned from her modeling adventures to Salem. Kate confronts Brandee about the forged contract and wants to fire her.  Lucas tells Kate that he messed with the contract, so don't blame Brandee and Brandee did a good job as a model. Kate decides not to fire Brandee.  Lucas tells Brandee to keep her mouth shut about Austin.

Meanwhile Austin learned that Brandee was returning and he finds her at Titan and he tries to drag her to pub to tell Carrie the truth. Brandee was supposed to leave for Paris the next day, so Austin needs her to meet with Carrie NOW.  Brandee plans to say nothing to Carrie. But meanwhile Victor has decided to fire Brandee, and the news of the firing reaches Brandee at the pub. Meanwhile Lucas has arrived at the pub. Once Brandee learns she no longer has a job at Titan, her loyalty to Lucas is done, and she tells the whole truth of all of Lucas' machinations to Austin and Carrie. Austin and Lucas come to blows. Lucas tries to explain. Carrie slaps Lucas. Carrie asks Austin out on a date.

And that was the end of Brandee's story and she didn't appear again. But Sami remained bulimic, sadly.
