Actually it's Soap Opera Digest where he is complaining. Something about how hard this past year was for him on the soap. He is getting nothing but negative comments about his acting and character on Y&R.

I haven't read the article but I am sure he is complaining about his breakup with Lily and his turn to the darkside. I am sure he was afraid he'd be out of job if Cane had gotten even darker.

He has the nerve to say it's so much harder for him cause Cane isn't a legacy character. Where? How?

I think that Goddard relished Cane's turn as a dark hat because it gave him plenty of storyline on his own, aside from being part of a couple.

 

JMO but I think he's saying what he's saying now to placate those Lane fans who were whining about his stint as a less than perfect husband.  He can't be honest and admit that his philandering boozy argumentative lying persona was the most interesting he'd been in ages.
