Members victorlord75
GH The forgotten heroes, Steve and Jessie, without whom there would have been no Luke and Laura later. Especially Emily McLaughlin as Jessie--she, with John Beradino as Steve carried the show for years--years unfortunately, that did not survive "wiping", that insidious practice of erasing and reusing videotape to save money. If their work could be seen again, they'd be lauded all over again.
Members cassadine1991
Did they explain what happened to Jessie after McLaughlin passed away
Members vetsoapfan
The show had downgraded the character of Jessie for many years prior to McLaughlin's passing; reducing her to an interchangeable under-fiver who was seen only rarely. When the actress died, Jessie simply ceased to exist without explanation. Years later, Steve Hardy briefly mentioned that Jessie had died, but that was it. We never found any details. It was extremely disrespectful to both the actress and the audience who cared for Jessie, IMHO. Imagine Jeanne Cooper, Frances Reid, Helen Wagner, etc., dying, and the show ignoring their characters completely afterwards.

Members vetsoapfan
Yes, and foisting embarrassingly cheesy sci-fi crap onto the soap opera medium. UGH.
