Nice for B&B. The Forrester fashion show gave them a boost. This past week was boring but glad it's up :-)

Remember when people claimed Billy Miller and Michelle Stafford would bring GH to the top?

Whats kind of alarming is how much Mal Youngs ratings have been much lower then JFPs. did CBS make a mistake in firing Jill when she had great ratings?

Do you understand these are PRATT'S numbers? His WRITING is the reason for the lousy ratings. The past couple months have been terrible story wise, even though production is greatly improved.

As for Filler Miller - ratings dropped and dropped when he was at Y&R so I'm not shocked. Frankly I'm surprised he's still there. I guess money talks and his big career of doing bad accents on FX shows had its limits. 

 

Soapsuds smarttv is still in the 2.6 range. u point out one day but it didht average to 2.3 million. its over 400000 then days. keep on spinning my friend but smarttv is what is keeping gh alive.

I'd hardly call any gain at all a 'good week' unless it holds.  Everyone's numbers are so down year over year - the 18-49 numbers are awful across the board.  A gain in total viewers hardly matters - looks great for the headlines but if your only real gain is in total viewers, and your 18 to 49 is down year over year (given the level that they are) - the trend is still downward for every show.  It's one thing when a show was down year over year but their 18-49 was still 1.5...when you're down year over year and you're below 1.0 it's not good news for anyone.

 

I did notice a couple of times on Friday that Y&R didn't sound like the Y&R I've been hearing...the dialogue was better toward the end of the week which makes me think that although Pratt may have written some of it, it's been tweaked by someone else heavily.  As boring as the show has been, there was some good dialogue between Sharon and Dylan, Sharon and Mariah, Chelsea and Faith, etc.  The show has never looked better in recent history - maybe ever.  The difficulty will be whether SSM and Alden can get back viewers or at a minimum stop bleeding for the near term, and maybe get some  building going on.  Honestly, no show has been able to do it and that's why there are only 4 soaps left.  When your core base, your die hard fans turn the show off - they don't come back.  And no show is getting new viewers tuning in - that's why the 18-34 numbers and 18 to 49 are so bad.  If they are getting viewers, it's in the over 50 crowd that advertisers don't care about.   Retirees that are perceived to have no money or be on a fixed budget that they don't advertise to.  The Y&R team has their work cut out for them.  I'm on the fence about so many of the newer characters (newer meaning in recent history) - like Travis, Stitch, (don't know what the point of Michele is other than to break up Travis and Victoria).  I'm still not liking the Billy recast...he just doesn't seem like Billy to me.   I just see a lack of chemistry between alot of characters on this show...I don't know what it is - there's no spark among alot of them. 

 

I can't remember the actress who plays Mariah - I knew she had played Cassie but I didn't watch during any of the years she was on there really.  I just knew the history from reading recaps.  That girl is a gem in my opinion.  Give her work....alot of it. 

 

 

@Fevuh Camryn Grimes played Cassie and is currently playing Mariah 

 

The thing is ratings under Jill and Pratt were sky high many weeks hitting 5 million plus. Jill was actually scoring highest ratings on YR in like 7 years..Mals ratings and he has been EP for almost 6 months even though its in transitoon have been lower.

It's dumb tv and no one is watching. The show is still suck in the gutter.
