GH Promo: Jason Revealed

It's more about the fact that this character has absolutely never been given a redeeming storyline, nor has she ever come out of a storyline as the winner. At least not in the past 10 or so years. The thing fans take note of is that no matter what regime is in charge, Liz is constantly [!@#$%^&*] upon. Sometimes she's a vixen, sometimes she's a needy ingenue, sometimes she's a liar. There's no stability there. They just dump upon her or don't use her, because they know Becky can play any story and they know she'll have chemistry with almost anyone. It's the same thing they do to Sharon Case at Y&R. They know these characters have loyal fan bases, they know the actors are good enough to pull this stuff off, and so they continue the cycle. Like them or not, SC and BH are the MVP's of their respective shows simply for the fact that they put up with this nonstop BS and never phone in their performances. Not to be an endless Becky boot-kisser, but she is the definition of elevation poor material IMO.

Actually, I hate all three. Let them fight to the death. But for the construct of the story, Liz will deserve her consequences.

And, I'm sorry to say, all I have seen Liz get is coddled for her schemes. She cheats on Lucky? Laura pats her head. She fakes a breakdown before to try to get Lucky back, and no consequences. Oh sure, JMB's Lulu yelled at her once at GH. Big deal. Seemed set up as a sympathy ploy for Liz's benefit to me there. Lucky's farm animal rant, well...she also deserved that, what with Liz engaged to him while screwing his own half-brother. She skates, and that's why I call her Lizzie Kerrigan.

So I hope this time, she does actually pay a bit. She's earned it.

Liz took her husband and has been f--king him every night for months! Sam has every right to confront her. Liz also kept Monica from her son so she deserves to rip into Liz as well. I get that you love Liz but there is absolutely no defense to what she's done to everyone. It was pure selfishness on her part

and even worse bc Monica has watched her entire immediate family be killed around her over the last several years. Especially after losing AJ (whom Liz was close to) recently, it would have given her comfort to know that Jason is alive. Liz was like, the hell with Monica

Well, I have read a rumor that Liz is the one to tell Monica that the Holy Hitman returneth (but leaves out that she has known for ages). If true, the chick has nerve. Even so, if true, at least Monica will know.

But God help Liz if/when Monica finds out just how long Liz knew and kept quiet because of her obsession with Jason's Joystick.

I wouldnt. Nicole was always an awful human being. They havent continuously trashed and written her out of character like Liz and Sharon to sell stories. Unlike Liz and Sharon, Nicole is a vixen that works better when she's causing trouble, being selfish and wrecking havoc. It rings true to who she is and its when they tame her , she doesnt work

I do not consider myself a "Liz stan" by any means but did a few of you miss my point entirely?

My point was that they CHOOSE to write "bus bump" storylines for Liz, year after year. That is NOT the same as being written well and lovingly as a vixen or villain. She is not written as love-to-hate, she is written intentionally by the writers as "You should hate this bitch" over and over again and it saddens me that some people on this board continue to fall for it and can't see past what's on the extremely-biased page.

I also think it's very different when you write a lead character as an antihero, such as Carly or Ava, because fans still adore them because the writing says you are supposed to. The word "hero" is still in said term, aka leading a story in some form or another. They have strong motives, goals and POV and they usually have a large majority of the canvas in their corner. And if not a majority, then at least other lead characters or actors. For example, what Olivia with Leo did was deemed wrong (though I personally don't mind it) but just yesterday, the show's lead, the Teflon Don himself, Sonny Corinthos decreed that Olivia did the right thing, even though she previously pulled the exact same [!@#$%^&*] on him! Liz is not a lead character, she is a beautiful, vintage piece of stable concrete on the set that holds the other thots who have done far worse things closer to the limelight.

Liz is always the roadkill in someone else's romantic triangle or plot point. See: Liz/Nik/Britt and Liz/Jason/Sam, or given romances that go nowhere and she is back at square one. See: AJ and Ric. When EVERYONE on canvas is given a random sibling out of nowhere or retconned into being someone's child, where is Liz's family? The only weak attempts they've made in the last 10 years consist of the Homophobic Orange Glowstick and the five-in-a-decade appearances by her gram Audrey Harding, as spelled oh-so-carefully by our latest dipshit show producer. For example, when Franco was going into the arts, would that not have been the perfect opportunity to utilize Liz's art background? The only time I recall them even mentioning it was when she sketched someone's face for the police. Or perhaps actually give her the opportunities that Sam and Patrick have been given to show they are good parents on screen, instead of the handful of times a year we see her three kids? We are told Liz is a good mother but if all that immediately comes to mind is that they all have different fathers, are we sure she is a good mother without seeing it on screen?

Just my two cents but thank you for taking the time to read! And thank you to those who see where I'm coming from. :) Can I get a "PREACH" from someone please? ;)

    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.

Melissa was here today & we went to Michael's Crafts & Ofc Depot. In Michael's there were two beautiful LITTLE girls who kept staring at me, so I gave them a littel wave & very quietly said HI & then did back. I told Melissa they were staring at me. She smiled & said "Purple. A lot of little girls love purple & you forget but you have purple hair. Seeing you their whole imaginations are transformed! Thinking "That lady has purple hair. That means I can have purple hair! They had no clue before seeing you that it was possible." I just laughed & laughed.
    • This opening scene is hilarious...it's like someone wrote out the script for Philip with one hand. And Rick...sniffing a scarf over and over. And in their next scene they are still sniffing the [!@#$%^&*] scarf as the camera stays all over Philip's bare chest and armpits as he keeps working out. Insane stuff.

Bay City better be ready, because I'm back!   At Vicky's apartment she is once again drowning in doubts and jealousy. Deep down she realizes that her dream wedding will be a farce and nothing can change that. Bridget tries to calm her down, but the heroine is determined to suffer. She is not hearing any positive thoughts. She doesn't believe Jamie will marry her. At the Cory Publishing building another farce is in process. Iris, once again pretending to be the angel of love and sisterhood... is telling Mac and Rachel some wonderful news. When Iris has good news, you really need to look out for yourself. That's when things are bad. So what are the news? Miss Devil has put Amanda up for an award! Mac is smiling from ear to ear, and Rachel is suspicious. Maybe that's the effect Iris is looking for. To once again accent on the fact that Rachel doubts and criticizes her daughter. Iris will do anything to destabilize their relationship. She is like a cancer. Back to Vicky! Jamie is at the door. Looking like a sad puppy, he has come with a surprise. No, he is not gonna leave her and her unborn... Not yet. He has bought her earrings. Sad face. How nice. NOT. Victoria, of course... manages to break one of them the moment she touches it. Bad premonition maybe? She was back in hysterics. It's not easy to trap a man into marriage. Then you have to live with someone that didn't want you in the first place.  We were introduced to a new character (to me at least she is new) - Cass's sister - Stacey. She is giving me "hidden skeletons in the closet"-vibes. Love a girl like that. Stunning actress. I like her. The highlight of the episode was the strange and creepy reveal of Evan the escort... hugging someone named Janice's grave. I remember she had an issue with Rachel... and Rachel killed her in self defense I think... It was hinted in prior episodes, but I lack the context and story. I just know that everyone at the Frame house was mad that Rachel killed the bish. But I also got the impression that this Janice was sick in the head. So Evan is now talking to her grave and telling her he is going to ruin Rachel's life basically. Oh, Evan... I liked you better as a sexy gigolo.  Overall - 10/10 - how can I rate it lower when I haven't watched in months!!!

    • Once again, Marlena and Kayla were used very effectively and I couldn’t be happier.  Marlena counseling Johnny and then Chanel was the best part of today. They’re really delving into the human emotion of this storyline and I think that’s a good thing. It feels so much mature than it was before. EJ’s fear about what could happen to Johnny if he doesn’t let go of his anger could lead to some really good storylines in the future.  I also really appreciate the way that Paula/Jeanne are mixing it up and having different characters interact with each other. It was nice to see Shawn and Johnny remember that they’re cousins and share a scene together. I liked the parallel that was drawn between the two of them, and what’s going on with their fathers. I did have mixed feelings about everything with Cat though. I enjoyed Chanel warning her about EJ, mostly because it played into the way that she was written today. But I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Chad/EJ scenes. The two of them discussing Chad’s potential feelings for Cat didn’t really keep my interest.  But above all, I feel that everyone is being used more effectively and that we’re getting a better understanding of everyone as well. And that was exactly what Days needed.
    • It's a wild story for sure, especially the final conclusion (and fireworks offcamera, like Victoria Wyndham tearing into Michael Logan).

    • I did some research and the story wrapped up with Eric,a caretaker responsible for Georgina's death who then  tried to do away with Laurie but a vision of Georgina spooked him and he smashed into a mirror, dying of glass wounds. So there was a supernatural element. I wonder if the Brody character in the credits was Eric Brody?
