I looked him up, and found that he worked at Days from 1990-2008 before returning in 2013. What happened between 2008 and 2013 that went so wrong?!

That doesn't account for taste. GL had major budget cuts in its final year, yet the clothes were absolutely normal-looking compared to the weird [!@#$%^&*] on Days. There's cheap and then there's cheep. I don't remember the clothes looking so bad in 2009-2012... or what little I saw of those years.
