Sonia Blangiardo will be directing at least one Days episode to air Feb 2016. Good.  That show desperately needs new directors.

Wonder who will be Kate Hall and Daniel O'Connor's replacements?

Things are looking up for Janet Iacobuzio! (just a guess)

I wonder if McKinsey left GH completely or if he's just freelancing at DAYS. If he left GH, what a loss for them, he's been there on and off since the early 90's.

It looks like he's freelancing because he's still being credited at GH and GH doesn't tape as far in advance as DAYS does.   He usually had the most episodes under JFP, but he's been directing less during Frank's regime.

With Albert Alarr now Co-EP and directing less, I guess they are rotating freelance directors. Scott McKinsey, Sonia Blangiardo, Noel Maxam.

Good!  Other than the costume design, the directing has been lackluster at best and downright awful for years.  Ken has to stop hiring friends and let the oldies but goodies retire (Stein/Sogard) and cut his losses with Williford and Johnson who are not inspired directors.  The directing needs complete overhaul.  It seems they totally get it and are hiring some of the best.  Maxam was their best director hands down and McKinsey is a classy artist/director all the way.  Just his choice of establishing shot for Teresa coming down the staircase was a nice opening touch that illuminates for the audience that she's scratched and clawed her way to the mansion.  Nice work Scott.

But Corday needs to let Albert do the work and maintain the best behind the scenes.  Ken has interfered and cut great people (Ed Scott, Maxam, Kathryn Foster for his friends).

DAYS:

- Noel Maxam first listed as Director on September 10

Had Noel left? For some reason I thought he was still directing on Days.

Edwin Klein confirmed on his FB page that he left YR as script/story continuity coordinator on 9/1 and joined the writing team of Days....

Wasn't he brought in with Griffith at Y&R?  So, I guess it makes sense. Brent Boyd was also a friend of Griffith's, and I wonder if he'll defect too.
