It is MAB, who still can't get over her firing from over 2 years ago.

She recently chimed in her to good friend Tommy Lightfoot Garrett on that "Fall and Rise of Y&R" article:

http://highlighthollywood.com/2014/10/yr-is-failing-simply-because-the-regime-does-not-know-bill-bells-legacy-bell-family-member-speaks-highlight-hollywood-news/

This woman really needs to give it up, she's so deluded.

OMG, I can't even follow that article by that dude who's clearly high or drunk in addition to being illiterate when he writes this drivel. While we all know there was a power struggle between Sony and the Bells (and that corporations have destroyed soaps), MAB was not the panacea to save the show. The Bells were crazy to put her in charge. She should have been a consultant or on the writing team offering ideas. Bell Family got one seat at the writing table, MAB; and Sony got one, Sheffer, and CBS got one, Hamner. It was a show written by committee. Some weeks the show was reminiscent of Sheffer's worst days at ATWT. We know he wrote the chipmunk Kevin drama. Then for weeks it would be a crime drama, the Hamner hallmark (he was no Henry Slesar) and some weeks the show would try to retcon or take advantage of Bell stories (Jill's parentage, bringing in Phillip, Marge)...all MAB ideas I'm sure.

There's no hope for soaps on network television. They will be beaten to death by profit margins and bottom lines. Even if Phelps leaves, Pratt will take full control and hasten Y&R death. It will linger for years as DOOL has but as a shadow of itself. SILENT FADE TO BLACK....ROLL CREDITS

OMG can this woman shut the f&@k up. She got fired because her show stunk. She ruined the Bell legacy and destroyed it with awful stories, over budget of old soap vets and talk about awful stunts. Ratings were hitting terrible lows at the end of her run. If she wasn't too busy being a socialite and taking 5 to 6 vacations CBS wouldn't have stepped in. I won't say JFP hasn't had her faults but she did produce higher ratings then MAB and produced tons of Emmys. I don't think Jill gives a sh@@t about MAB. Heck Jill didn't just go to Angelica about Pratt she went to Nina Tassler. Say what u want about Angelica but she is much better than Frons. Deal or No deal is at its highest and the Talk has buzz and is a hot show and B and B has done great ratings. Tommy is an idiot he keeps saying JFP job is on the line and she's getting fired for 2 years now and she's going to hit two and half years at the helm on year 3 so where is her pink slip? MAB go shut the hell up and go back to being a rich snotty socialite. In fact it's her bashing of CBS and Sony probably a reason Kay Alden was rejected. They won't consider any Bell protege.

Also if and when SONY replaces JFP I doubt it because she's buddies with Steve Kent but they will definitely not give MAB that job back. I still think Wendy Riche would be fabulous if they still insist from going from the outside.

Jean has no vision. There! I said it! None!! Several soaps, more than one shot at the top as HW. Boring, meandering, lifeless stories. Her vision is to plod along until death.

MAB had about 3 or 4 months of great story when her run began. Then it became worse than Latham! My problem is JFP has driven me away from every soap she has been EP of for 20 years. No headwriter she had had during her tenure has been appropriate for Y&R, not good enough to HW any soap.

    • I found it to be a rather odd way to deal with a character departing for parts unknown.

Luckily, EJ and Johnny, and pretty much every other character saved today’s episode.  I didn’t expect Javi to be the one to save Sarah though, and I don’t mind it at all, because if it means that Javi is finally going to get his own identity/character, away from his douchy bf, I’m all for it. Javi’s scenes would’ve been a lot better had it not been for him. EJ and Johnny were the best part of today. Their conversation hit a lot of important beats and I’m so looking forward to seeing them play out. And now that EJ knows that Johnny is going to work for Xander, that opens up another dynamic to their storyline and to the Kiriakis family storylines as well. Tying them all together could be really good. There are so many story possibilities that can come out of this. And I thought Carson Boatman did a pretty good job again too.  I also liked that Johnny was there to comfort Chanel after everything that happened with Sarah. They’re so good together. But I do have mixed feelings about Chanel possibly forgiving Johnny so quickly. Hopefully, the question that she asked him at the end of today leads to more conflict for the two of them.  And yeah, still no changes in Alex’s character lol
    • Awesome, thanks so much for taking the time to grab this episode. I had a quick review of your rip because I was curious why it was 700MB and 30 minutes. The first 10 minutes of the episode is 3169 (opening credits at 5 minutes and again at 15 minutes). I thought we had the full HD version of ep.3170 on the YouTube channel, but it appears they added the wrong episode but labelled it 3170.

    • Well, since I'm still up unexpected past my growing-into-it bedtime. lol.   I finally got to rewatch Monday's. I even rewatched Friday's to take it all in. Now that we got the reveal and hit the climax of the SilkPress Sheila storyline, now we get to watch the aftermath and/or turns that come with its climax. So far, so good. Friday left us with three cliffhangers. And what I found surprising was how I felt about them over a rewatch.    I know some of you all felt a way about the dialogue during Kat vs Eva. I remember liking it more the first time around and it was nice for them to have these scenes to establish more of a frenemy vibe for them going forward. That still held up. But I found myself agreeing with you all about that dialogue. lol. Still, it was nice to have both of their POVs.   Second up was Silk Press Sheila vs the Duprees. And I was happy to get a brief spat with Dani in there. But the rest standouts for me was Anita and Martin. Haters can hate and given the tail end of the episode, I will agree to a fault, but Brandon has impressed and he was on fire on Monday and had great subtle work on Friday. And that subtle work made it all the better. Like I believe I said when I was watching...BC has a much better grip on his character and seems to be realizing what his tics are so has started to be able to know when to turn it up and when to dial it down. And for the most part (emphasis on most), he got that. Meanwhile, TT was giving fierceness, and I was here for every minute of it. Her reading SilkPress. Her being quip about it. Her 'BE STILL.' Ooooo she had a chokehold on me as Anita gave what I was expecting her to SilkPress. WORTH THE WAIT. I also loved Vernon's CHOOSE SILENCE. I wonder though if SilkPress will figure out Martin's condition from her observing Anita and Vernon with him.   And speaking of worth it...Oooo YES Nicole vs Ted was worth totally worth it. Oooooo I knew DD would nail it, and it was all so well done. The fight between the part of Nicole who is a therapist vs Nicole as a woman who wants to express how she feels. And being so angry. And how there would be moments when it would shoot out of her. And how she would restrain herself. But how she felt she should not be restrain. Just the levels of processing and layers. And DD played it all so well. I do wish Maurice gave just a little bit more, but overall, I thought he did a good job even if it was just Ted coming across as a deadbeat and not at all redeemable. And Kat being there for her mother was so beautiful.   Minority, but I love the montage though yes, it did run a little long. Given how the Duprees like to bond (and also as I mentioned from my own very recent family experiences), it did not seem out of place to me.     That said...let's see how the aftermath worked in today's episode. Overall. Cuz RC can be hit or miss.
    • I wonder whose brilliant (

) idea it was to do an almost complete rip-off of the "who killed Tom King"-storyline. That's some quality style writing right there.....
