Lucas will be an undecent person by this time next year, even if he wasn't Carlys brother he would still be under RCs pen. He will fit in quite nicely a with the rest of the awful people. Unless he becomes Sabrina 2.0 or better yet Sonny 2.0 (DOOL).

If Felix was white with a posh accent (which he already has unless he's being "sassy") personality wouldn't good enough for Lucas. Look at how much pleasure he took in breaking his word to his supposed best friend just to cause some drama.

Same goes for Brad. It's not their color or nationalities, it's the fact that they are not decent people and the last time we saw Lucas he was a decent person by GH/soap standards. Now, if Lucas was coming to make one of the evolve, that'd be different.

I don't care about any of the 3, but why is Felix not a decent person? I think he's a very decent person who's loyalty to his bestie makes him look like a fool. Some of the things that comes from Felix makes no sense, but that is a writing issue. I think he's a good guy who happens to enjoy the sound of his own voice and is also a busy body.

I did laugh at well rounded because no character on Ron's show will be well rounded anymore.

Well-GROUNDED was what I said, and Lucas may no longer be that, but I still expect that he won't be the tarts that Felix and Brad are either. Therefore..................

Some of you are way to transparent and are trying your best to not explicitly say what you really mean, let's keep it real and cut the bull.

There is no need to make such a condescending, inflammatory post.
First of all, transparent in doing what? Second of all, I said exactly what I mean.

When you say they rarely cast men in Daytime, like Nathan, to play gay characters you mean 'hot wooden gym rats who can't act' rather than 'average wooden guys who can't act'. Trevor Donavon and Victor Webster were still awful actors with awful characters, we're they easier to swallow cause they were hot and lyke so macho? And let's not act like everyone wasn't panting after Will and Sonny, up until they boarded the Bloated Express on the Unfortunate Haircut Freeway.

That is your guess/assumption/interpretation of what was said. The point that was being made is that daytime (and primetime, in many cases) only conceives of gay men as one thing: Average, shorter, more effeminate and so on. Men like TD or VW don't make it easier to swallow because effeminate gay men are not a problem to begin with. They just represent some diversity in what the TPTB consider a gay man.
Usually, instead of showing all the various spectrums/types/levels/what have you, they go for the only stereotype that a large part of the audience (and the creative teams themselves) can conceive/understand. There is barely any real diversity in gay characters, just like there is rarely any diversity with AA, Latinos, Asians, etc.
Therefore, it would be really shocking if GH had cast a person they would typically cast as a jock/generic boyfriend of the week/cop as a gay man. It's not right, but it would be shocking nonetheless, because they can't comprehend that a gay man wouldn't necessarily "look gay" (Uuuuuugh). And, yes, wouldn't be nice if, for once, there was a gay man who didn't squeal at seeing a cockroach and didn't walk around saying "guuuuurl" & "fabulous" all the time? I think it would be nice to stop with the broad caricatures and instead write a gay man as a person.

I don't particularly care about him but I think if Felix got the chance to do something truly outside of Sabrina's orbit he may be a worthwhile character. I find the actor likable in his quieter more serious moments. His one on one with Carly last year when they first met was one of my favorite scenes from last year, yes again he was a sounding board but at least to someone worth it. I love when those two have scenes together, they make much better friends than him and the awful black hole that is Sabrina (although her vows to Patrick was also one of my favorite moments of last year).

Basically, I think if he was given a chance to not play nurse maid to Sabrina and given a real story outside of her he could work. And let's face it Brad was born out of another Sabrina plot point. I think He and Lucas could be cute and Lucas would be his only chance to have a storyline outside of her.

He is not an awful person, he is just written by an awful person....

And YRBB if you said exactly what you meant, then I wasn't talking about you. I wasn't being condescending, I was just saying what I meant as well.

To me, decent people don't talk trash in front of children. He was using Emma because he hated Britt.

I guess I should have included the "in my opinion," with all that.

Felix has proven himself to be a bully and a hypocrite.

He PROMISED Sabrina he wouldn't say a word but he told the first chance he got.

He was all over Robin being Patrick's "baby mama," but I doubt he would EVER refer to Sobby the same way, despite the fact that Patrick followed his heart's desire and chose Robin, therefore making Sabrina an inconvenience to Patrick.

Let's not even get started on what a bitch he was to Britt when he and Sobby had NO solid proof on what they had decided on the basis of what was most convenient to Sobby's fairy tale romance.

Unless Felix the flea actually has to improve his personality for Lucas (based upon the last time we saw Lucas, and the same goes for Brad), I have no interest in seeing Lucas slobbering all over him.

To me, decent people don't talk trash in front of children. He was using Emma because he hated Britt.

Yup, and I'm glad Spencer was smart enough to see through Felix when Felix tried to buddy up.

Grown ups were allowing Emma to call Britta a bitch, so if that is the standard, all are horrible.

Wednesday:

OMG they keep throwing digs at Bobby's looks laugh.png So mean

I’ve been enjoying Maura West’s performances. She’s taking a horrid character and has really built it up. And, I admit, I even loved Ava's threats at the end and how she put Julian in his place.

At least Sonny was smart enough to question Morgan’s lies. But why he would send his son to be potentially killed when he was anticipating Julian's reaction is beyond me. Morgan instantly turns into a snivelly, crying little sh.t that refuses to look Sonny in the eye everytime they talk/argue.

Franco was horrible towards Scott. Is this the hero we’re supposed to love and worship? And it seems his guilt over killing Heather and fear that he was truly a murderer quickly went away. But I’m loving Lucy & Scott. Just awesomeness.

Not saying anything about Heather and Carly. Nope. Not happening.

I think Silas' story made sense and was nice enough but what a letdown that this whole police investigation is based on Nathan's belief that he tried to kill Nina. We already know Silas didn't do it. Huge anticlimax. I guess they needed a reason to bring Nathan to town. Nathan & Dante seemed to click really nicely (if only ignores the clunky lines about the Yankees etc). They had good buddy chemistry.

Bitch of the day: Franco. His attempts at humor & sarcasm, and RH's acting choices... sigh.

MW is the best actress on the show. No matter how bad the character is written, I'm still drawn to her scenes.

I agree about Silas story...at least it makes some sense especially compared to a lot of the other stories. I'm thinking that Ava tried to kill his wife.

Grown ups were allowing Emma to call Britta a bitch, so if that is the standard, all are horrible.

Yeah they were wrong for that as well. I believe Felix was the one mainly getting her to call Britt that.

Finally caught up on all of last weeks GH.... Didn't those two hacks Carlivati and Valentini claim that there would less mob [!@#$%^&*]?! Another fine example of telling and not showing.

I hate Felix because he's played by a non-actor who only exists because Ron thinks he knows how to write gay characters and to be Sabrina's sounding board. It doesn't help that I really enjoy Britt, who he dislikes so much. I couldn't care less if Felix is a good or bad person because of everything else about him!!

For some reason, I really enjoy Carly's stupid decisions when it comes to men. It's just soooo in character for her! Part of it's that I enjoy watching Laura Wright play up Carly's delusional self righteousness. But Franco makes me sick. LW and Roger Howarth have chemistry and seem to be tight off screen too but the crap with Franco is disgusting.

Not looking forward to the crap with Heather. I like Robin Mattson (loved her on AMC as Janet) but she should be in another role. For me, the only way that Heather could be a tolerable character would be if she was played by an actress who is on a mission to make Kelly Sullivan's Connie look restrained by comparison. I'd like Heather a lot more if she was played a very hammy OTT actress. It's the only time I find supervillains on soaps a blast!

Why do your assessments crack me up? Not sure, but I just love them.

In real life, yes Carly would be disgusting, but I have yet to find the idea of this story disgusting. I live for watching women get with men they should never be with on soaps. The horrible writing disgusts me to no end, however.

As for Heather, I don't need to ever see her again, but once Carly is found and everything gets back to semi normal, after a few weeks, I'd love for a very fitting Friday cliffhanger with Carly walking into a room to have a chat with her prisoner bound and gagged in a cage, Heather . Something has to seriously give here and I have absolutely had it with Heather! Kidnapped and tortured should change a person, so take a break from FrankenTodd and let the real fun begin. Carly can get counseling from fine ass Kevin at a later date!

Felix exists so that Sobby's halo remains untarnished.

Everyone else (except Carlos) who worshipped

the ground Sobby walks on is Robin's friend, so at least they're not being written COMPLETELY out of character. It's unfortunate that Felix has to be RC's bitchy mouthpiece, but Sabrina is obviously worth more to him than Felix is and therefore Felix is Sabrina's stand-in bitch because of the halo thing.

One would think RC would have more respect while writing gay men, yet Felix is among the most unlikeable characters on this show and Brad is just worthless and desperate.

  • Member

Sadly, gay men often write the most anti-gay characterizations.

And that is the most mystifying thing to me.

Felix and Brad (especially Felix, unfortunately) are HORRIBLE characters, stereotypes and RC simply doesn't give a damn. He's not about a good show at all.

Hell, Guiding Light was floundering BADLY in 1996, but it's better than this [!@#$%^&*] RC is pandering.
