Its not about her being skinny now, Im over that

My issue is Laura Harrier seems to have good days but real emotion at least to me she has hard time doing

Thoughts and if so recast, who would you pick and Shenell is not an option with her college schedule

Shenell's not an option bc she sucks.

To answer your question, yes Destiny should be recast. I gave LH 3 months to impress me and while cute, she just isn't good and didn't improve from episode 1 to the finale. Hopefully they've been auditioning people in the time off

On a purely shallow note, If they are intent on making Jeffrey and Destiny happen, Id rather they go with a shorter actress as LH just looked too tall paired up against CB

PREACH

Honestly, looking at the ep counts, Laura was in what 26-27 eps? Yes they got drawn out over months because of the schedule changes but really we haven't seen much of her at all. I'm not ready to call for a recast. I've still found her far more tolerable than Shenell who was given almost 3 years in the role. She has a sweet presence about her & I do think she improved- there just weren't that many eps. And I think she's worth keeping for at least another season on the strength of her chemistry with Corbin and especially Rob Gorrie. The triangle/quad whatever is just getting good and another actress could throw off the dynamics that I do think were developed nicely over the season.

SE should not be asked back. She doesnt work as an adult Destiny. Acting wise alone she's not good enough. I will say for all her short comings she's made Destiny interesting to watch. She was spunky, spoke her mind, was a busy body, etc on top of being sweet, kind, and somewhat innocent.

LH is beautiful but long term she doesnt work as Destiny imo. Acting wise shes far below her peers. The show needs seone who can hold their own with RG, CB, and KM. Her Destiny is also a bit too bland. I'd like her to have some quirks.

If they recast I would want an actress who could breathe some life into the character. Davetta Sherwood is an excellent choice. She's what I'd imagine a 21 year old Destiny to be like. LH is too far off the mark.

Davetta is too old to play Destiny. She was 22 playing late teen Lily back in '06. It would be nice to see her in another role, but she would read as too mature compared to the rest of the quad. I forget the actress' name, and she's also too old for the part, but the young lady who played Bernie's niece on The Bernie Mac Show reminds me of an older Shenell.

If they do recast Destiny, they will certainly keep in the mold of Laura. There's no going back.

Cheap, that video is everything! Not only does that show actually look good, but she is so well spoken. I know she auditioned for Maya on GH and according to SOD, Rachel on OLTL (I feel that must be a typo lol), but it really shocks me she never got another soap gig. She's a great actress.

    • If NBC could have for seen the ratings of Lovers & Friends (the replacement for Somerset).. they would have for sure kept Somerset on the air longer. https://jason47.com/days/ratings1976.html  (ratings for Somerset in the final year) https://jason47.com/days/ratings1977.html (ratings for Lovers & Friends short run...getting as low as a 2 rating).

    • I liked them, too, and was really disappointed it never went anywhere. The whole art theft story was ridiculous, but they had a nice chemistry. Certainly nicer than Alan with Christine. With her, he looked like the funny uncle. The worst thing they did to Bolger, IMO, was having Phillip write that DREADFUL novel and dramatizing it while he wrote it. GAG, that has to be in the running for one of their worst storylines that didn't involve wacky things like clones or time travel. Soaps rarely do school storylines, or don't do them for very long. Not the case so much in the early days of soaps, but after GH took off in the late 70s other soaps took their lead and would catapult teens/young adults into adult stories right away. That's one reason Phillip and Mindy ended up with so many ex-spouses--they started getting married really young. They shipped Dina and Cameron off really fast after high school and stuck Alan Michael in a marriage storyline with Harley. Did he EVER go to college? I don't think so. It may also partly explain why Quint and Annabelle had to go, beyond TPTB wanting to do a cast sweep. Teaching is not a profession that plays well on a soap. Quint definitely had to quit being Indiana Jones, because that wore thin really fast, but they didn't do him favors by making him a professor. If they wanted to keep him, they should have done what they did with Amanda (who was in another dead-end soap job, concert pianist)--have him work at Spaulding as one of the major stockholders.
    • Judith McConnell (Augusta) and Denise Alexander (Lesley) were great screen partners on GH.  They got into some stellar arguments in character in the medicine room.
    • He also commented that Brad knows that fans are sick of the constant fake deaths on this show: Finn, Sheila, etc and that it's hard to take this seriously if it's another fake death

    • I just don't think Brad Bell has it in him to actually kill off Liam. He should have killed off Eric when he had the chance. I know John McCook is an original cast member, but Eric is even more useless than Liam. Eric should have died and then it would be revealed that he died without a valid will, so Donna, as his wife, inherits everything, including his shares in Forrester Creations.
    • I think we all will, isn't that how soaps work? lol
    • ^^ I'll believe it when it actually happens.
