Michelle Stafford interview in SOD about her Y&R exit

I really don't see the need for a recast this soon. The show, and the character of Phyllis, could really benefit from the character being off the show for a while.

Frankly, while I am not necessarily an MS fan, I do wish she could return in the future (after a year or two off the show). It seems like her attitude is "hell no" (but maybe that hell no is just as long as JFP and JG remain). I also don't agree with the notion that it's fine to cut her because she might have an ego but keep people like dull Burton and his hefty ass paycheck and accomodate his schedule.

I haven't been impressed with or liked much of anything from JFP and JG's Y&R anyway though.

The thing is JFP has dealt with a loss before. Do u guys remember on oltl when roger Howrah left in 1998? Roger was gone all of 1999 and ratings went up for the Dorian hits Jessica and kills her baby storyline. She hit number 1 in demos, to be honest I think Michelle is a mega star bit she has a huge ego that stoked by MAB. Jill doesn't play games with egos if she wants u out your gone. Jill called her big bluff and let her walk and Steve kent backed Jill up. Angelica IMO I don't think has as much power as Sony. Steve and Jill are very close pals.

Sicne the contracts are with Sony I don't think AM has as much power as them either.

There also seems to have alot planned for September on the show.

Jamie Luner. Sarah Buxton. Robin Christopher. All ready and waiting to step into that role.

Although if they recast JFP will probably hire daytime superstar Rebecca Budig.

I would laugh my ass off.

It's pretty clear that Stafford took a roll of the dice and tried playing hardball with JFP and Sony, who didn't bat an eyelash and let her walk. And that's why CBS didn't flinch either, they OK'd JFP's hiring for a reason: to trim the fat and not deal with egos.

I don't think she took a roll of the dice. Anymore than Steve Burton did when he left GH. Or Renee Goldsberry or Trevor St John when they left OLTL. All negotiated and weren't offered what they required to stay. Couldn't reach an agreement. Doesn't make any of them greedy or egotistical IMO. They all knew what they wanted, and if they didn't get it, they were prepared to walk away. First rule of negotiation.

I wonder if JFP knows that that's MS walking seductively in the Y&R bumper and if she'll yank it once MS leaves. She seems like the type to do something petty like that even if MS's likeness isn't particularly recognizable. I also wonder if MS gets a cut from that, or more likely, it was some sort of one time buyout.

Has this ever been confirmed? I thought it was Heather Tom walking in the shot.

I wonder if Michelle is the first "real" victim of JFP. We know she has her favourites, and that she clashes with women. Maybe Michelle has had enough and knew when it was time to throw in the towel.

In Jill's defense here we all know ego Michelle has. Jill could recast her with one of her favorites. Maybe it will be Tamara Braun.

That look nothing like Heather Tom. Yes I believe it was confirmed.

Considering her history backstage MS is no victim.

I think MS thought that she was at least as important to the show as Chrystal Khalil. She got what she wanted didn't she? I don't think for one minute MS thought that they would let her leave.

By the way, I feel like Khalil is next on JFP's hit list. They will recast Lily without recasting her with this Hilary character. A new daughter for Neil to fawn over while they push lily further and further to the backburner.

Robin Christopher, Jamie Luner, Sarah Brown, Gina Tognoni, hell even Tamara Braun go call your agents

Sarah and Tamara they need to be on reserved when LW's contract expires this fall on GH, that is IF she doesn't renew

Gina Tognoni, I hope she's on OLTL's mind..

Where has she ever said that she would do AMC or OLTL? If she's really willing, AMC need to snatch her up fast.

what AMC character would you like to see her play?

I don't understand this question. If RC were to go to AMC, obviously she would be playing Skye.

Yes, it was confirmed by Michelle in print when asked by a reporter.

Thanks for the confirmation, this is good to know! Andy lucky girl.
