How great was it to see Sheryl Lee Ralph? She will forever be one of my favorite under-used AA actresses! I'm playing catch up and was pleasantly surprised to see her. She looks fantastic.

Put her on Scandal, and I'd be a fan of the show for life!

This was a really difficult eppy to watch as it really drove home the point of how widespread AIDS is in the AA community. Here you have 3 people who are not related and come together for business purposes, and each has a close family member who has died or is living with HIV. 1/2 the Divas! 1/2!!!!! That's a tough pill!

Nicci is still just a piece of trash to me. Syleena comes onstage to support her and help her get thru a song, yet she still wants to be a bitch?! Evil ho!

Keke - why do I hate/love to hate/love this woman all at the same time? I wish she would sing more because she has the best voice of all of them.

LaTocha - Jermaine put it to you straight. Teens don't give a chit who you are and won't be buying your music. Shoot for your old audience and hope to get 25% of their attention. Man, that had to sting!

Faith has a better voice than I thought, but she can go NOW! Boring ass!!!!!

So over Angie Stone!

Is there a reason why everything is centered in this thread?

Kiki, Latocha, and Angie look cute. Monifah would look better if she got a f-ckin' stylist or friends that has fashion sense. Syleena's dress needs to be taken in more, and that wig on her head is a mess. She should've worn her hair straight to the bone. Nicci . . . Lord help this child. And this heffa has a fashion line too! closedeyes.jpg

From what I've collected, it has something to do with Syleena's older sister, who happens to be her manager. I'm guessing Nicci and Syleena tried to do a tour or event season one or sometime afterwards before season two, Syleena's sister made some request on her sister's behalf, and Nicci thought it was shady. However, none of the other ladies seem affected by it. Nicci is a big time liar and Angie proved that last episode.

Somebody said Nicci's big ass looks like Capitol Hill! LMFAO! DEAD

Basically Nicci is just mad that Syleena and her sister are in charge of the tour and Nicci wants to be. Hence why she lied to the ladies about singing for a charity that doesn't even exist! SMH. This needs to be her last season.

Yeah..... Nicci is just a spiteful, jealous person and ain't nobody checking for her clothing line. It looks like crap that you would get from Rainbow. I really can't stand her. I hope Angie gets in that ass at the reunion.

How long will that last? Heifer wants to propose but refuses to move to ATL. That is something that needed to be discussed LONG before the idea of marriage came up. Bitch is gonna make Mo cry :(

But on to other news - Nicci Gilbert is a miserable wretch, and it warms my heart that there is a petition to remove her from in front of the camera. EP (good for her) or not, if your target audience is not happy with the product, you have to make changes. This will either force this woman off the show or she will have to make some changes. She's pure evil, and it's not just for the cameras. She's evil! I am really disappointed that she and one of the producers have taken this fight to Twitter because I don't need to see that. However, he has made some valid points. What Nicci is bringing is not what he pitched to TVOne. He wants the show back to his original idea. Nicci's level of nastiness is bringing down the show.

    • Yes, Stacy does this both for early DAYS & early GH. I have written some for her, for DAYS.
    • Hahahha I think sleeping with almost all of your daughters's boyfriends and husbands and getting pregnant... definitely gives Brooke the right to top 1 place. Long live the whore of Beverly hills.

    • CurlyQGrl has DVDs of some episodes, that they can sell, but that doesn't matter. What is helpful: they describe the scenes on the tapes, so you can read that as recaps without ordering anything. Doesn't really give storylines, though, which is what you asked for.  Here's the links anyhow. full menu https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/menu.html GH page https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/gh/menu.html GH 1960s https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/gh/eps/gheps1960s.htm
    • I would argue that Another World never played "everything" for laughs. Even when there were comedic scenes in some storylines there were other storylines that were not intended as comedy.  You give 1988 as the end point, and Mary was on the canvas from August 1986 to February 1989, so she must have overlapped with the despised laughs you are referring to at least half of the time she was there. I honestly can't recall any real comedy that Mary would have been part of. I don't think she was lighthearted about choosing between two husbands, MJ's prostitution, Kathleen's death, or even her son Scott dating her daughter Cheryl.  I would have said that the amount of comedy depended on the head writer and there was more comedy under Richard Culliton and Gary Tomlin in 1984 than subsequent headwriters. I guess there was an outbreak of more comedy when Cecile kidnapped Cass from his wedding in 1986, but in general the Sin Stalker wasn't presented as funny, Mitch's return wasn't funny, John's arrival wasn't funny, Reginald wasn't funny. The tone was serious even if the plots verged on the ludicrous. And maybe that's what you mean -- but I would make a distinction between intentional comedy and storylines I can't take seriously for other reasons.
    • I'm excited for us to get back to a full weeks worth of episodes and also us beginning to move into the episodes filmed once the show premiered. We're already starting to see changes in the lighting and the way certain characters are styled. Of course we know this week we have our first recast as well. After the big Eva reveal, I hope the show continues to move into a positive direction and that we see them starting to fix some of the things we've all had issues with.
    • It seems like they may have been going in one direction for Andre and then changed their mind. He had this player/bachelor thing going at first where he was messing with Dani, seemed to be feeling Eva, and then somehow smitten by bland Ashley of all people. I feel like Ashley was supposed to be the one that finally made him want to be with someone and settle. The way he talked her up in those earlier episodes was really confusing. The wonderful, amazing nurse Ashley and conveniently she's unattainable because she has a partner, but he can't stop thinking of her and takes these busted pics of her. It was a mess. However, it all seems to have been dropped. I honestly feel like Andre can go. That may be an unpopular opinion but I don't need his breathy final syllable to be content with BTG. It's always like "There's gotta be another wh-ahyy"
    • This is where McLaibey falls apart. It becomes clear that McTavish had not thought past Brent/Marion...so the energy drops and she starts throwing things at the wall (Blakes twins, Lonatrat.)   Fans HATED this funeral. Everyone is mad at everyone else, which is fine, the death of a beloved community figure would give people a reason to come together...(Quint and Nola could come together at least for  a bit to support each other, Nola and VAn could finally admit they kinda, sorta like each other) Its just an example of McTavish's mean writing.   I have a feeling they were going to make Dahlia Frank's kid but they chickened out. Making Tina a prostitute didn't help, they could have been lovers when they were young but felt society pressure to part. Marcus took over David's role (you can't have two young black men at that time...)   Get used to it...this will happen, the same storyline over and over until the end.
    • Does anyone happen to have a recording or any footage of Jennifer’s funeral?
    • It's such a shame that the conflict couldn't be resolved in a mature way between the two actors.. especially since Albee was a bigger asset for the show in terms of character and his popular will they/won't they pairing with Deborah Saxon. One of the things about Edge was that it was just as popular with male viewers as it was with women.  It's one of things I think the show forgot in the final year or two with the deemphasis on the male characters.
