So far at least, I don't think there is a link.

I said Susan was probably more thrilled for KKL than anyone else because for years now, whenever she's been nominated, she's always said that she didn't understand why KKL hadn't been nominated yet. And when she won her Emmy in 2000, she singled out KKL by saying, "Next year for you, Kelly." wub.png

If a new quote comes up though, I'll certainly let you know. smile.png

This really is one of the worst lists ever! Sure, choices were limited as there were only 5 soaps eligible. But why only 4 nominees for Best Actor & Actress? All 5 soaps eligible were nominated! Finola couldn't get that 5th spot?? (Or any other actress omitted).

For anyone who can enlighten us, and think that Y&R block voting is the reason for so many nominations, a recent TV Guide footnote says that voting rules were changed so that Y&R block voting can't happen. What were those changes? How did Y&R score so many noms?

Although I like CM, the Young Lead Actor Emmy should go to ME - YR's Fen. He was extremely impressive in the Bullying storyline. The boy deserves an award for his performance as the amazingly disturbed, creepy, and over the edge teen bully. That storyline and his performance put Days' so called bullying storyline to shame.

The only one from the Days' crew that I'm rooting for is AZ for Best Supporting Actress.

I Love YR's Adam Newman, but just like Days FS, outside of angry scenes, MM's line delivery is generally flat. So, I'm hoping GH's JT gets Lead Actor

BB's HT and SF were both great in their storylines, but I hope HT gets the Lead Actress prize.

Not really impressed beyond the pale with any of the nominees in the Best Supporting Actor or Young Lead Actress categories.

I guess he's on a lot but he never feels like lead to me. He's supporting KM & JMW - who really belongs in that lead slot.

I agree tho he should be in lead given his airtime and story. But Jesus if KKIL is supporting then everyone is. Such a desperation move on her part. It's sad cz she deserves a nom - but not like this.

First off - here's to OLTL taking home awards for both Best Drama and Best Wriring. They kicked ass their final weeks (and months) and those last few episodes on ABC were pure GOLD! They deserve this!!

Congrats to KKL - a very long awaited and deserved nomination.

Also hoping that Susan Flannery will take home another emmy for this finale event. Well deserved.

As for my show Days, I don't really feel they were snubbed. 2012 was a so-so year at best. The actors/actresses who got nom's deserved them. Chandler and Freddie worked hard and put up some quality material in 2012 and I'm proud to see my boys up against each other in younger actor. AZ is always a top notch actress and deserves her nom. IMO Days didn't have any outstanding "leading actor" or outstanding "supporting actor" actors to present. Not that their actors are bad.. but nothing from 2012 really stands out as Emmy worthy... (I think it would have been awesome to see James Reynold's in the supporting actor list for his Lexie death scenes - he rocked those.. I know he wasn't a pre-nom..just saying)..As for Peggy in lead actress... don't get me wrong- I love Peggy.. and she did have some good quality storyline with the alzheimer's material - and she did well with it. I would have no problem in seeing her as a nom. in supporting actress - but in my 16 years of watching Days- Peggy has never been a lead actress. It's not who the character of Caroline is.. so while I congratulate her on the nomination.. I don't think its where she belongs..Otherwise, for Days - I feel the nom. list is pretty appropriate and deserved.

its sad that they cant just do away with at this point, but with coward lead actress going for supporting just to get the gold and lead basically being veteran actress, they stand no chance.

JMW should absolutely be nomd for lead over Flannery, Tom, KKL, everyone. She is the lead of that show and damn good at it.

Jumping for joy about Peggy McCay! Say what you want about the category; her reel obviously had enough good work from the Alzheimer's to get her nominated and she deserves it!

Also happy about Chandler Massey and Freddie Smith.

It really only became weak during the late 00's (around 2008 and onward). There were plenty of actresses who were nominated for this award or won it who were great actresses. I would say the weakest link of the Emmy's has always been Younger Actor by far though. However as the years pass by all of the categories have gotten weaker and weaker. I remember when Supporting Actress used to be the best category because you would get all kinds of actresses of different kinds with different styles and methods of acting now it feels like a token sorority trophy. Lead is a joke now as well.

    • I found it to be a rather odd way to deal with a character departing for parts unknown.
    • Today reminded me as to why I’m a little disappointed in the name that the new Pope chose

Luckily, EJ and Johnny, and pretty much every other character saved today’s episode.  I didn’t expect Javi to be the one to save Sarah though, and I don’t mind it at all, because if it means that Javi is finally going to get his own identity/character, away from his douchy bf, I’m all for it. Javi’s scenes would’ve been a lot better had it not been for him. EJ and Johnny were the best part of today. Their conversation hit a lot of important beats and I’m so looking forward to seeing them play out. And now that EJ knows that Johnny is going to work for Xander, that opens up another dynamic to their storyline and to the Kiriakis family storylines as well. Tying them all together could be really good. There are so many story possibilities that can come out of this. And I thought Carson Boatman did a pretty good job again too.  I also liked that Johnny was there to comfort Chanel after everything that happened with Sarah. They’re so good together. But I do have mixed feelings about Chanel possibly forgiving Johnny so quickly. Hopefully, the question that she asked him at the end of today leads to more conflict for the two of them.  And yeah, still no changes in Alex’s character lol
    • Awesome, thanks so much for taking the time to grab this episode. I had a quick review of your rip because I was curious why it was 700MB and 30 minutes. The first 10 minutes of the episode is 3169 (opening credits at 5 minutes and again at 15 minutes). I thought we had the full HD version of ep.3170 on the YouTube channel, but it appears they added the wrong episode but labelled it 3170.
    • I guess, according to Mike Manning in the Michael Fairman chat, he was almost Derek

    • I imagine Brad will blow through all the money in a year and come crawling back, just as Portia warned him not to.

    • That's a name I haven't heard in a minute. Thanks!
    • Well, since I'm still up unexpected past my growing-into-it bedtime. lol.   I finally got to rewatch Monday's. I even rewatched Friday's to take it all in. Now that we got the reveal and hit the climax of the SilkPress Sheila storyline, now we get to watch the aftermath and/or turns that come with its climax. So far, so good. Friday left us with three cliffhangers. And what I found surprising was how I felt about them over a rewatch.    I know some of you all felt a way about the dialogue during Kat vs Eva. I remember liking it more the first time around and it was nice for them to have these scenes to establish more of a frenemy vibe for them going forward. That still held up. But I found myself agreeing with you all about that dialogue. lol. Still, it was nice to have both of their POVs.   Second up was Silk Press Sheila vs the Duprees. And I was happy to get a brief spat with Dani in there. But the rest standouts for me was Anita and Martin. Haters can hate and given the tail end of the episode, I will agree to a fault, but Brandon has impressed and he was on fire on Monday and had great subtle work on Friday. And that subtle work made it all the better. Like I believe I said when I was watching...BC has a much better grip on his character and seems to be realizing what his tics are so has started to be able to know when to turn it up and when to dial it down. And for the most part (emphasis on most), he got that. Meanwhile, TT was giving fierceness, and I was here for every minute of it. Her reading SilkPress. Her being quip about it. Her 'BE STILL.' Ooooo she had a chokehold on me as Anita gave what I was expecting her to SilkPress. WORTH THE WAIT. I also loved Vernon's CHOOSE SILENCE. I wonder though if SilkPress will figure out Martin's condition from her observing Anita and Vernon with him.   And speaking of worth it...Oooo YES Nicole vs Ted was worth totally worth it. Oooooo I knew DD would nail it, and it was all so well done. The fight between the part of Nicole who is a therapist vs Nicole as a woman who wants to express how she feels. And being so angry. And how there would be moments when it would shoot out of her. And how she would restrain herself. But how she felt she should not be restrain. Just the levels of processing and layers. And DD played it all so well. I do wish Maurice gave just a little bit more, but overall, I thought he did a good job even if it was just Ted coming across as a deadbeat and not at all redeemable. And Kat being there for her mother was so beautiful.   Minority, but I love the montage though yes, it did run a little long. Given how the Duprees like to bond (and also as I mentioned from my own very recent family experiences), it did not seem out of place to me.     That said...let's see how the aftermath worked in today's episode. Overall. Cuz RC can be hit or miss.
