OLTL: The Prospect Park Era (old production thread)

right and both shows are still editing. I think they may be stretching scenes on air until both shows start filming & they start taping the new material.

Right, I just don't get then why they have been splicing eps together and moving ahead of the previews some weeks if they're going to be down to the wire when they resume taping and need to stretch out. (although it does make sense if we're thinking solely about adjusting pacing from 4 eps). Oh well, I'm sure both teams have a plan in place & a method to what they've been doing.

New Jen Pepperman interview touching on OLTL's 45th birthday, the cursing ban & upcoming plans. All of the interviews I read with her- her responses are carefully crafted but also feel very honest- its refreshing.

"We are in talks to bring back a very popular classic character and I’m not at liberty to say yet who it is. But the fans will be very excited by it. Because we are a half-hour show I want to make sure all of the characters on the canvas have story."

Love Jenn Pepperman. She seems so classy and caring about the show. Can't wait to see what she's talking about.

Terrific interview--I'm most curious about this "never before told story"...

Me too- the classic character actually excites me less. Marty? Kelly? I feel like its one of the two. I'm actually not sure what my preference would be. I'll continue to hold out unrealistic hope for Max until they tell us otherwise.

The never before told story also sounds like its going to involve one of the real long-time vets so that has me totally wondering who/what it could be.

The only classic character I want on right now is Larry. Or Carla but that seems a shot in Hell (as does Larry.) I mean eventually I'd love to see more 90s characters on,but right now I have no real desire and I don't think the show needs it...

Herb Callison. That's all I want.

Awww poor Larry didn't even get a cameo in the ABC finale. Agree with you- loved 90s OLTL, its the root of my whole soap fan tenure but I just don't think the show needs anyone from that period who isn't there right now (although I do beieve that JP is really committed to making sure the current cast continues to have story). If the show lives to next summer, sure but have the right story in mind before you grab the actor. I guess maybe the Tonja Walker could be it but I really really thought it was GH for her.

I wonder who it is, also she said a storyline NEVER been done before with a core character who's been there for a long time

When are you going to comment in the weekly thread on this weeks episodes? Its such a sad little discussion right now. It needs some Jack/Kate championing. smile.png
