Never happen. Up until recently CBS wanted nothing to do Hulu. Although, apparently CBS has finally agreed to make old episodes of some available but that only happened very recently.

Oh yeah, I forgot that CBS shows are not on Hulu, so that wouldn't work.

Why, I don't know. Did Y&R or DAYS gain significant numbers of viewers when AMC and OLTL were cancelled? Do they suspect people will leave these shows behind just because AMC and OLTL are now available at their convenience? Because, if you ask me, it'd take a lot more than availability to get me to switch soaps. Nor would I stop watching SONY's shows because PP says their shows are "bolder" and "sexier." If I'm watching Y&R or DAYS, it's because I am invested emotionally in those characters; and if I stop, 1) it'd have nothing to do with AMC and/or OLTL coming back, and 2) I probably won't be tempted to try new ones. But that's just me.

I'm trying to figure out a way CBS (and ABC and NBC, for that matter) could spin this to their advantage. Maybe the fact that now AMC and OLTL are available when and however you want, you can watch them and their shows, too? I don't know, but I think it could be done if they tried.

All those marketing folk at CBS must surely can put their heads together to figure out something:

Just off the top of my head, I would say something like

'...it's been in the press, everyone knows that soaps are hot again(interspersed with clips). Tune into the #1 daytime dramas and discover why Y&R and B&B have always been [fill in the blank by having actors from the soaps saying words like hot, sexy, etc].

And if they were truly clever, they'd run it right after an ad from Hulu's new soaps.

Sure some of us cynics might roll our eyes but they'd get points for acknowledging the reality and managing it in a classy and clever way.

S0rry if this was already posted:

Online-Only Soap Ads Won't Air on NBC, ABC, CBS

CBS, which has run ads for digital outlets Netflix and Hulu (which is distributing the revived soaps), declined comment. But a source tells THR the network views the digital re-launch as a direct competitor to its popular daytime dramas, including THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL.

NBC also declined to comment as did Prospect Park. However, a source says NBC refused to carry ads during its only remaining daytime soap, DAYS OF OUR LIVES. The network was open to primetime spots, which Prospect Park declined to pursue. NBC did, however, sell ads on several of its cable networks.

ABC sources say the network was willing to accept ads within GH because of the licensing relationship, but on April 17 when Prospect submitted an ad for OLTL that included Howarth prominently. ABC refused it -- on the grounds that it would confuse the audience.

The CW Network did accept ads for the online soaps, which began running in such shows as HART OF DIXIE and 90210 last week. Fox, according to a source, also was open to running the ads, but Prospect Park decided against running ads there because the network has only primetime programming and no history with soap operas.

But the ads are visible other places. Prospect Park placed them on numerous cable TV networks and Web sites, as well as social media.

the soap bloggers are calling foul saying they are misinformed and that there are lots of errors
