Nervo is really big in dance clubs here and are all over the dance radio stations. They gotten heaps of exposure in the past few years and really became famous once they teamed up with Kylie Minogue (who is, of course, huge here). Most of their fame outside of Australia probably does come from working with Kesha (blah) and Kylie.

Is Kylie Minogue not popular in the US? I thought she was for some reason.

I hate newer music. Ugh.

Seriously?

She was 10 years ago and then 10 years before that but not now. Unless you ask the right music obsessed gay boy.

Kylie's had about two hits in the US--The Locomotion and Outa My Head. But she's become enough of a (very) minor name that she's promoted her last couple of albums on shows like Dancing with the Stars--but no, she's not the name she is elsewhere. I'm a huge fan as most on here know--but when I saw her in San Francisco (twice) first off, I never thought she would even tour N America, and second, while her shows sold well they were all at theatre venues--markedly different than her stadiums elsewhere. She has sold marginally better and had better radio play in Canada--slightly--just as our market has always been *slightly* more Euro/pop/dance driven than the US where dance based music for a long time wasn't on the radio. The joke used to be that one random dance song would make it big once a year in the US--Can't Get You Outa My Head was one, I believe that cheezy cover of Bryan Adams' Heaven was another.

I hate music on soaps period. I really hope they don't try to go for edge over good storylines and dialogue.

I heard they are doing just that. Maybe you should decide not to watch (again)... wink.png

So they should only feature in club scenes music from.... pre 1990? 1980? That'll really get a buzzy online audience. (And hey, I love me some disco, 80s synth pop and 60s Brit Pop so it's not like I mind out of taste.) I do agree that obviously they can't devote big chunks of episode to any fo these acts--at least not often, but if they're the music in the club and we cut to conversation, etc, I have no prob.

What does that even meeeeeeean?

I hate new music as well but that isn't going to prevent me from watching. So I guess this is going to be "OMG PP just doesnt know what they are doing!!! I hate them!!" round 666.

Dubstep, Trance, club music....new pop. It's so obscure. You can hardly tell what the lyrics are and they are repetitive and half witted most of the time.

Never did say I wasn't gonna not watch because of this. But, I don't want this soap to become a Disney channel type soap for scene kids. Instead of being OLTL.

All three are some of the most experimental and interesting new music out there. There's so much good trance and dance music out right now by really good, interesting, and talented artists.

Trance and dance music - and their endless genres, subgenres and sub-subgenres are well over 20-25 years old.

And I'm pretty sure Disney doesn't play dubstep or trance.
