AMC: The Prospect Park Era (old production thread)

I think it could be read either way but I can't be bothered to think anything of it just yet. If there's anything new to behold it should come out in the photo shoot. And it's clear OLTL hasn't finished casting yet.

I won't shoot you.

I don't mind the teens if the writing is good and the actors can sell it.

AMC in the early '80s had many teen stories and the fans (young and old) enjoyed them. The actors were charismatic and the parents/guardians of the teens played just as pivotal of a role.

I would love it if this new teen scene was like the early '80s one.

It seems like Daytime Confidential actually opted out of the affair. Which is [!@#$%^&*] insane to me. What do they do, if not this?

I'm very encouraged about AMC, but it's important to note that a lot of the focus is likely coming from their starting production first. I'm sure OLTL will get as good a rollout when the time comes. They (AMC) also have an all-new cast of young people for everyone to coo over and speculate about, which has been very exciting for me as well. With OLTL there are some new people, but others are still being cast and the rest are known quantities. I love the AMC hype train, but I look forward to the OLTL one too.

I guess I didn't really mean audition per se as much as...

Agnes: "Hey, you know who would be good for the Evelyn character?"

TPTB: "Who?"

Agnes: "Francesca James! We should phone her and see if she wants to do it."

Unless of course they created Evelyn with the intent of making her connected to Kitty and Kelly or just plain wanted to make a role for FJ.

So AMC has 7 all new cast members and one returning after decades away, out of a 20 member main cast. Damn!

I think OLTL basically considers Sean Ringgold, Shenaz Treasury and Nick Choksi 'regulars.' It's not like they listed any of the AMC recurring cast in the press release, which was strange.

I just want to know if KDP was crying her way through the whole thing again like when OLTL wrapped taping. (And Bob Woods, for that matter, who I heard was out in the street with fans in tears, as was Austin Williams.) I can't deal with Bob Woods crying like he did in the finale.

    • I suppose I am glad Lulu and Cody are trying to figure this out in a fact-based manner, but wouldn't save everyone a lot of time if they just stole Gio's hairbrush and compared it against Rocco's DNA?  Lol.

I guess I have to reluctantly rewatch
    • That works for me. And/or Dani could be in with a fast crowd and got involved with something shady and Bill came to the rescue.
    • I think judging from synoses of other shows, that the summaries are roughly in the order they played throughout the year. So Kubeck returned to a more crime theme. Maybe now that EON was competition they wanted that audience? Re Jameson Parker, the story goes that he was not pleased that TPTB wanted to tread lightly with the Dale/Ellen romance and he was taken to task over some improvs he added re touching Ellen in ways considered too 'racey'.So when his contract was up he quickly moved to OLTL as Brad.
    • I don’t think it was intentional. Because if it was, I imagine it would’ve been mentioned in one of those ‘Welcome to the Neighborhood’ specials that aired.
    • I mean, soaps are a world were 5'2" Eva Longoria can be a runway model...
    • I wonder if Michelle Val Jean even considered this. It seems so obvious to many of us.  If they want the Dupree name to continue, Anita and Vernon need at least one male heir.  Two would be even better.  Do you think Val Jean may have written it this way intentionally for some reason?
    • Agreed Anita and Vernon definitely needed a son or two.  The Duprees are the core family, yet the name practically doesn’t even exist anymore.  Some slot machines would be nice

    • I would have it come out that Dani was pregnant with Naomi while her career was still on the rise, and the idea of a Dupree having a baby out of wedlock would be scandalous, and Bill, who was starting out in his career, received pressure from Vernon/Anita to do the "honorable thing" and marry her and in exchange Vernon promised to help his new son-in-law out with his legal career.
