Soapnet's "50 years in 50 hours" GH marathon

Here's the first promo for it. And, it's a 50 anniversary promo too. Not sure if I should have put this here or Spoiler Island. But, there's not really many spoilers in the promo. But, move if so.

Diana's husband, Peter Taylor.

Heather was suicidal and wanted nothing to do with her child after Jeff Webber used her for sex. She gave her baby away. Little Steven/PJ was bought by Diana and Peter on the black market, I think. They had no idea who the mother was for years; when Heather (who was by this time involved with a remorseful and repentant Jeff) learned, this led to her befriending Diana and ultimately the infamous LSD trip tea that Heather accidentally drank.

I wish they'd air this LSD trip.

How long did this story span - a year or two?

The second wife was named Diana. I can't remember her original last name but she became Diana Taylor (after marrying Dr. Peter Taylor, who was also one of Jessie's husbands). Phil also raped Jessie while they were married. She became pregnant with with Phil's baby at that time and was still pregnant when she was engaged to Lee Baldwin. I actually believe her marriage to Lee was stopped at the last minute because of Phil's return and the birth of their child (who later died). I don't think Jessie was married when she died. The last relationship I remember her having was with Dan Rooney who later married Aunt Ruby.

Aunt Ruby had a husband?

Boy, that Phil sounds like GH's Roger Thorpe - raping his wives and all. Was he depicted by the show as a villain, a gray character, or a hero?

Thanks. Do we get to see Tania at all in this marathon?

She's in the Frisco and Felicia wedding episode I think.

Tony and Tania are one of the earliest GH memories I have.

So cool!

The PJ/Steven Lars saga ran for about 2-3 years. You can find the LSD clip on Youtube. I don't want to clog up the thread with videos but if you can't find it PM me and I'll try to find it.

Phil was a bastard, sometimes a complicated one, sometimes not. Unfortunately none of his era is around, aside from some episodes of the early days.

Them and something about Laura feeling like she was being watched, I think it was early 80's. The Police song "Every breath you take" always makes me think of that. I dunno how I remember that, I was toddler age in the early 80's lol

Luke telling Bobbie that he'd never sell out his family?

I see that dummy, TG, forgot all that when he blamed WR/CL for domesticating Luke and forgetting the 'true essence' of his character because from where I'm sitting, DM/GM had zero problem in setting the template of Luke Spencer as a man who held his family down no matter what.

I could be wrong about the marriage but Dan was dating Aunt Ruby the last I remember. Phil started out as gray but was a complete baddie toward the end. I don't think poor Jessie ever got over him. She really loved him.

First time really seeing Jessie over a course of several episodes. Love her.

I liked Rose Kelly for the most part.

I liked how the show had so many 'real' women anchoring the canvas in various ways.

Love seeing Original Edward and young everybody in more than just clips and sporadic classic episodes aired on SoapNet and found on YouTube.

LMAO at Emma Samms. She seems so baaad at times. Robert/Holly though <3

Laura and Luke! The real Luke and Laura! So nice to see them again <3 Guza utterly decimated them

Young, pursed-lips, 70s hair, vixen Bobbie <3

Lesley and Denise Alexander <3

Sigh.

I thought Liz's mother's name was Andrea (who I've never seen or heard from on camera).

It says so on Wikipedia, but most seem to think that a Liz fan listed it there and it somehow was accepted as fact by the site. AFAIK otherwise, her name has never been mentioned.

Well, that's unfortunate. I'd have liked to have met Phil after they developed him. I see inklings of this in the '63 episodes, but something tells me that they barely scratched the surface on who he was.

Thank you Carl, but I'll look it up after I've finished watching this marathon.
