IMO, 1994 GH was perfection.

Female characters who actually liked and respected each other. Kids who were intelligent and personable. Back when Port Charles was a community when people (from the old generation to the newbies) looked out for one another. Men who would actually walk to the ends of the earth to make their women happy.

Sometime tomorrow or the next day people are going to get a real look at why Brenda chose Jax over Sonny on the real. Guza and co. wrote that story to perfection - perfectly articulated the differences and evolution of the characters, especially Brenda, who grew and changed so much. They closed the book on her and Sonny when she found him, a broken man, in MB's brief return in '98, and was just a different person, period. It was some of the best work, the most mature and layered, that I've ever seen on a soap opera. And then Guza came back in 2002 and shot it all to hell. They completely undid Jax and Brenda and the woman she had become, with no explanation.
