January 5, 201313 yr Member I've seen cases where the surrogate was successful in retaining custody of the child she had given birth to simply because she was the vessel, which takes precedence (if I'm not mistaken). Lulu's egg is worthless outside of Maxie's body.
January 5, 201313 yr Author Member That's true, but I'm just assuming all of these things are in that contract. If they're not, then what is?!
January 5, 201313 yr Member But wouldn't there need to be some legal precaution for cases such as this? This leaves the door open for all kinds of deception.
January 5, 201313 yr Author Member I would just assume that if Maxie miscarries the baby that is biologically Dante and Lulu's, that they would be notified. I mean, if the procedure had worked and Maxie had decided to lie to them about it, run off and raise the baby herself, that would be illegal. So wouldn't it be illegal for them to not disclose to Dante and Lulu that the baby miscarried? Maxie is, technically, a paid employee. She signed a contract that she would carry their child. If the child is no more, do they not have a right to know?
January 5, 201313 yr Member After having a look at GH's closing credits, are Britt, TJ and Felix all contract players? Yea they all are
January 5, 201313 yr Author Member But my Ellie isn't. That stupid, ice cold, unlikable, ugly, basic !@#$%^&*] horse with the teeth has a contract, but the beautiful, charismatic, energy-filled Emily Wilson is about to be killed off?
January 5, 201313 yr Member I doubt if there is language in the contact that Lante s/b called if a miscarriage were to happen. Brit is probably obligated to disclose only if asked, but I'm having difficulty believing there would not be a stipulation that Maxie needs to be notified first. Maxie's medical status is private information no matter who's child she's carrying.
January 5, 201313 yr Author Member I haven't watched yet, but are you saying Maxie doesn't know she's miscarried?

I don't think Ellie is going anywhere. Out of the newbies, she and Brit are keepers. The others can burn in hell and take Spixie with them! I haven't watched yet, but are you saying Maxie doesn't know she's miscarried? She knows. Brit told her. But wouldn't there need to be some legal precaution for cases such as this? This leaves the door open for all kinds of deception. Seems like surrogacy is mostly good faith, but I could be wrong. Edited January 5, 201313 yr by ChitHappens
January 5, 201313 yr Author Member I don't think Ellie is going anywhere. Out of the newbies, she and Brit are keepers. The others can burn in hell and take Spixie with them! I hope she isn't...I don't know if Britt is a keeper. I think the actress is decent, though she desperately needs to seek emergency orthodontia. However, they need to flesh her out. Get her the HELL away from Patrick. Do something twisty and unexpected...I don't know, maybe make her someone from Carly's past. A relative of hers, via her adoptive family? Maybe she has some big secret, she knows something about Carly that nobody knows? Make her a back from the dead, facially reconstructed due to injury, Dawn Winthrop? I don't know. There's potential, but she desperately needs to be moved into another arena. I agree about the rest, other than Maxie. Love her.
January 5, 201313 yr Author Member Ellie lives. I know but I have heard from a VERY reliable source that her days may be numbered. I actually am quite drawn to Ellie and I don't know why. I guess it's Emily Wilson. She is just very likable, and it makes me invested in Ellie. It reminds me of the connection I had with Georgie and years before her, Robin. Obviously it's different, as Ellie isn't a legacy character. But there's just something.

Thanks, R. But do we really think Ron cared enough to Google that? I'm sure he has no idea.
January 5, 201313 yr Member I don't even care about the law. Even if he did do his research on surrogacy law, it's still disgusting that Maxie would do this.
