HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

Oooh. That's a thought. Greg teaching at the highschool.

I'm glad Susan Lucci is appearing. And David Canary is going to recur (or heavily guest star, I guess). I also assumed they were both a given, in some form, so I'm not super surprised but I so happy they'll be a part of it in someway.

MEK's words were ... interesting. Sounds like SOMETHING is up with him, but what? And I'm very happy Ray MacDonnell will be a part of it.

Honestly, the vets coming back don't surprise me because of Agnes Nixon. I mean, even with Lorraine writing the last few months of AMC, and Agnes "helping", we had Dixie's stupid death undone, Stuart's pointless, stupid, awful, horrible murder undone ... etc. so I figure she wants to fix what "went wrong" when the show moved, thus, bringing back the veterans who "retired". I'm not saying Agnes is God, but I think she definitely has a big influence.

I'm also really happy they're, in a sense, truly rebooting the show.

No, not EVERYTHING is thrilling me, but to me, I'm just incredibly grateful any effort is being made and they seem to want to make these shows familiar yet very relevant and even edgy, which If I remember, many wanted, and probably a big reason the soaps struggled through the late 90s and the 2000s. They just repeated the same garbage over and over again.

That was my gut thought. I hope he's well though.

I mean, I'm sitting here reading this thread and I just can't believe how incredible it is (yes, I'm STILL cautious about it all though! I'm 99.9% I refuse to give that 1% until I see something on my screen) that two soaps, cancelled, DEAD, are suddenly going to be rebooted online. When you just think about that fact, it really is pretty big.

Not necessarily new (Arrested Development) in theory but still ... it's huge.

I'm also pretty excited they're just going to be 30 (21 minutes? whatever) minutes. If you just watch all the episodes at once it's just a 2 1/2 hour movie, if that. So nice. Well, if you watch both, 4 hours, compared to 10 hours. And hopefully we'll end up having it be a decent "30" minutes instead of 39 minutes with 10 minutes of good material and 29 minutes of filler that a lot of us fast-forward through.

And yes, it's not proven yet, I know, I know .... who's to say it will even be successful long term but I do feel good about the ideas behind all of this. I think it's fantastic that SOMEONE is thinking outside of the box. Just because it's different doesn't make it bad ... but not everyone's going to love it, either.

Great posts & I always love reading your insight/opinions on all this cool.png

Thank you :) I just did the same to a post of yours in GH February thread lol, before I saw this.

AMC is going to be a hot mess with time jumps...no Lucci...limited vets and all about the teens...LOL...OLTL WIN!

Considering that OLTL has a lead story about a teenage girl prostituting herself i don't see the difference.

I can definitely see OLTL emerging as the 'darker' soap, not that I want to see Destiny surrounded by old men groping her as a way to make a quick buck. But I don't think that will be how it is and I'm willing to wait and see how it plays out, if it even plays out. The audition script was just an audition script.

This sums it up perfectly LMFAO

*sigh* Prospect Park is like that ex who keeps making you think they want to get back together when you're really nothing but a booty call

OMG, *dead* lol! I hope not though, I would like the shows back and for the genre to thrive!

To me that's exploitation, not darkness, and it reminds me of a similarly trashy story Susan Bedsow Horgan did with Rachel Gannon. Hopefullly it won't come across that way. But until I hear more about that story I can't really get past it.

July 15th would have been OLTL's 45th Anniversary if it was still on ABC

GL was cancelled before but they never counted those years. The show premiered on Jan. 25th 1937 yet on they celebrated the show's 70th on Jan 2007. So basically, I am sure they will do SOMETHING for July 15! GL also celebrated it's TV premiere so, if this is successful, I am SOOO going to look forward to the Internet Anniversary!

WHAT JOY! @VIVALDI BOUTIQUE where many a #Dorian outfit came from...there I was being fitted in the kind of clothes that make a DIVA swoon!

And those are only a few of her latest tweets about OLTL....lol.

They should have Robin tweet photos of some of the outfits. It would get some free PR for the stores and the show.

Yeah....that would have been neat and they could have had a contest as to spot the episode that she were a particular dress in and win something or other.

I can't wait to see what Dorian's wearing either.

She always had the best clothes.

Apparently they got Dorian's outfits from the same place they got them when the show was on ABC...

  1. @MichaelFairman @susangammie Let's say that again: YAY for @SusanGammie and the RETURN of #OLTL TY MICHAEL You helped pave the way TYtwice!

  2. @soapsaversunite @vivaldi @susangammie SWEET-humbling2 @Vivaldi is in my 'hood. I'd pass it & sadly think: aww it's over-BUT look it's NOT!

It's weird to think Robin Strasser, of all people, is one of the leading soap voices on Twitter LOL. I wish we could get someone like Erika Slezak on Twitter. She would be an interesting mind to interact with.
