Folks need to get off this kick that ANY character is so important that he/she demands to be on any show, whether in original or recast form. There was life before, there will be life after, and one monkey don't stop no show.

How are PP the villains here? Really?

ABC once owned the characters from AMC/OLTL/GH. Well, it was ABC's ultimate choice to axe AMC/OLTL. PP expressed interest in the characters from OLTL/AMC, as well as the shows themselves. Seems to me ABC let the company take them over willingly, since the network had no more use for them.

It was RC and FV's arrogance and whiny entitled attitudes at play, thinking their OLTL pets were for keeps when it was never outright said that PP was dead, never to be resurrected.

It's like saying saying The Police's "Every Breath You Take" now belongs to the group who sampled the track for that rap song "I'll Be Missing You" because the rap group changed the words. Well, the melody is still by The Police. It was borrowed. Same thing here.

Those characters are no longer ABC property. OLTL and its characters are now owned by Prospect Park quite legally. Too bad, so sad.

And I must say, should ME and KA play new characters, even if it will never be admitted, it will fail. Sarah Brown tried it; Natalia Livingston tried it. Where are they now?

Frankly, I don't see how these three are vital to anything on GH. The show went along great for 49 years before them. It's not worth the legal haggling just because RC/FV are bitter and don't get the concept of "intellectual property" which is sadly ironic considering ol' Ron used to be a lawyer himself.

If the actors don't want to go, that is their right. Terminate/Buy out the current contracts, which seemed to be signed under false circumstances (as the actors still must have been aware of the possibility of PP) and renegotiate...or move on to another job that won't have all the legalities tying them up. But, in the end, I don't feel sorry for these actors. They likely knew the score, too, and rolled the dice, and lost. That's the way the cookie crumbles. Acting is not a stable profession, anyway.

I'm glad that RH is leaving GH for the simple fact that Todd will be free of the snaggletoothed skunk.

Now, ME leaving GH - especially at the start of a storyline with great potential - will piss me off to high heaven, especially since:

1. he works a lot better on GH than he ever did on OLTL

2. not a single OLTL viewer will be mourning his absence from Llanview

this post (edited for length) is a thing of beauty. I especially appreciate that you noted all the righteous indignation over PP reclaiming that which ABCD threw away. OLTL is bigger than three characters and much bigger than the three actors who portrayed them. PP is bearing the load of resurrecting a soap that ABCD didn't value enough to keep. They deserve to have the "whole package" rather than the pieces that are left after GH scavenged my show. And the pretense that these three characters are so fundamentally central to GH, especially in the year of it's 50th anniversary is beyond absurd.

Considering you've said you're more invested in ME and Kemo doing whatever, wherever, however, I can understand your statement here. But the [!@#$%^&*] about "not a single OLTL viewer will be mourning his absence from Llanview" transcends arrogance. You really speak for every single OLTL viewer, when you really don't give a [!@#$%^&*] about OLTL? GMAFB.

Oh. Dear.

Only in so much as we saw her grow up on a soap. And she is the child of an Iconic Soap Pairing. Does that help?

I don't think anyone is comparing KA to Kimberly. But there are valid comparisons between Starr Manning and Robin Scorpio, and you can throw in Jessica Buchanan. Can't speak to AMC but there's probably a valid comparison there too.

Thanks Errol. Wouldn't it be cool if they set up Jesse and Angie as the counterparts to Clint and Viki on OlTL. It would make sense strategically IMO since a lot of what they're doing here is testing the format and seeing "if you build it" who will come?
