HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

  • Member

WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

The last thing AMC needs is to lose Lindsay Hartley, its best hope for individuals driving non-core story in at least ten years. And JV isn't bad either.

Well KWAK and Babe were in the last ten years, and the drove the story into the ground. I don't mind Cara and Griffin, but I don't think they should be lead characters - strong supporting, yes, but IMO the characters still needed to be connected strongly to core characters for me to care about them. If you put either with a brand new character or re-cast, I would find it very hard to get into their story.

For those debating Kendall vs. Greenlee (I'm not thinking of the actors involved), Kendall, for me, is the stronger character needed because of her ties to the Kane family. I personally never liked the show making Greenlee Jackson's daughter, and I hate when the shows insist upon connecting families through unknown children. I don't mind Mary as her mother, but there are many more characters I could think of from AMC's past that are more relevant.

For the SOD article, I think it was RB or AM who spoke of having conflicts. Julia B. is working on a websoap with Jill Larson, but since Larson has signed up on AMC, it would put that project on hold, and wouldn't be any more of a conflict for Jill than Julia, and Jill is contract.

Oh, hell, those little websoaps aren't going to keep anyone off a real job. Just ask Crystal Chappell.

TOLN will be the ABC.com for the soaps. They'll air the shows on TOLN like ABC does with their programs, but also allow Hulu and iTunes distribution.

Errol, do you have any confirmation on Canadian access for the shows? We can't access HULU here and even iTunes Canada doesn't allow access to certain content that iTune in the US has.

Didn't DirectTV worked out some type of deal with Passions with a paid channel in Canada? I'm sure PP can do the same or something similar with AMC and OLTL.

If nothing can be worked out, this is the internet and you will find it somewhere for free. So I wouldn't worry.

I am willing to pay....I am just worried that we won't have a platform here in Canada to pay to see it. nbe.jpg

Thanks for posting. Glad to hear they're in communication and it doesn't look like PP will recast our girl cool.png

Miss Nelly & Giddens both tweeted that they're hearing PP is in the middle of negotiations w/Canadian streaming platforms so have a little hope ;-).

TOLN was always meant to be the branding of PP's internet endeavors as opposed to where the shows would be based.

Who would want to go???

If you are in Los Angeles, California State University-L.A. is hosting "Cup of Culture: Daytime & Pop Confidential: An Afternoon with Jamey Giddens” on Monday at 3:15 pm PST. I will be talking via Skype here from Atlanta, and there will be a Q&A session.

That is almost as terrifying and shameful as the time I was asked to be a guest speaker at a film school lecture alongside my boss. (And did. Shamefully.)

That makes sense.

I'm done. Angela, you know what to do. I'm burnt the f out. I can't take anymore news.

Dont let haters get you down. Your better than that.
