EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

Frankly, as long as I have to watch Jamey, Nelson and Fairman felch RC and FV then the people who are tired of the Agnes love just need to suck it up. No pun intended.

I think in this particular instance, that type of spray is coming out the other end.

That is actually a HS graduation picture from 3 years ago my mother took. I look like James Dean in the full picture a little bit because of the way I am posing.

I have to admit that I'm one of those people who probably talks about Agnes like she's a combination of Wonder Woman, Scheherazade and Maya Angelou but...I treasure the art of storytelling and I think that Agnes is one of the best storytellers in the genre. I try (and perhaps, fail) not to be a blind follower of hers but there are simply writers whose work I trust even when I don't agree or like it. I like to think that I'm willing to call out even my absolute faves when they misstep but that doesn't keep them from being my faves.

Then what do you consider her publicly rationalizing (I won't say "justifying" because I'm sure even SHE felt wronged by it) the Unabortion? That's my main issue. A woman who'd rather toe company line than speak up for a truly monumental story she DARED to create during a time it was hardly acceptable, doesn't seem to be the type of woman who'll STAND UP AND PREACH to the newcomers about what Soap Opera is supposed to be. I've never lost sight of Agnes' history. She's a woman who caves under a domineering presence. Let's not be fooled. She created All My Children, wrote the bible for it and presented it to P&G and they rejected it. After OLTL, ABC wanted her to write another one and she's gone on record several times deferring to her husband before presenting ABC with AMC. "Oh, do you really think it's good?" All I'm saying is that this woman has shown that she will submit her will to the dominant opinion of whatever the situation is. It happened after Pratt "met" with Agnes as well. He "met" with her, used that as the cliched line of approval to appease the press... and then had her banned from any further consultation. "We" didn't even find out about this until AMC's cancellation.

I said all that, to say this... Agnes will be Agnes. She'll possibly offer her suggestions and thoughts, but if the dominant opinion differs, I don't doubt for a second that she'll back down. This is where I see her failing to pick up the Irna Phillips torch that so many claim was passed down to her. The woman is too complacent. That's why McTavish was able to turn All My Children into Purgatory. That's why Pratt was able to turn All My Children into Melrose Place.

Believe me, I respect Nixon for creating and steering the AMC ship for 20 years. AMC is MY SHOW and there would be no show without her. I wouldn't have had a love for writing without the show being a daily presence in my life. However, I'm that person... I call my own parents out on bullcrap, and I'd die for them. Agnes is just a woman who wrote a show that became popular. She's hardly on a pedestal as far as I'm concerned!

Many fans were hoping to see Rex, Bo, and Natalie again if JP, Robert S. Woods (Bo) and Melissa Archer (Natalie) signed on for Prospect Park’s One Life to Live. Thus far there has been no word on the status of Bob or Melissa from the actors themselves or Prospect Park. Looks like Farah and JP have decided to continue to pursue roles in primetime television and films as pilot season is happening again!
