HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

  • Member

WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

Agreed. Clint and Nina really havent been relevant to AMC in over 2 decades despite her making a few brief appearances. I dont think having them on together would be a huge draw.

They won't. A lot of fans know of them but didn't see their story. I'd much rather them bring back Bobby.

Maybe if the show were still on TV, it could have been a big deal a la Angie and Jesse, but I don't think it will be worth it online.

I know the likelihood of either of them appearing may not be that great, but if by some chance JDP and/or FH sign to OLTL 2.0,

you guys will be talking to a ghost from now on, because I'll have dropped dead on the floor from shock.

Just saying.

Agree. I think that AMC online should have ties to yesterday, but also establish new legacy characters in a new medium for a new audience.

Oh hell no. After all the years of us listening to you beg for them back, you will NOT DIE upon their return.

They are probably referring more toward AMC with that bolded comment below, but either way it still makes me curious as to just how many AMC and OLTL cast members they are likely in the process of hammering out deals with at the moment...

As of last week, most major stars of the soaps had agreed to return to their roles.

It's a lot of crap but some you may enjoy or see as workable.

Crap? I don't think so, Carl. Your ideas for AMC 2.0 are nothing short of marvelous. Reading them, I do feel a sense of community that was lacking from the former series for a long, long time. It'd be criminal if no one from PP hired you to join the writing staff.

I was wondering the same thing..someone needs to take their meds.

Janet stopped taking her meds because she said they made her "itchy".

Looks like no Ilene Kristen on the new OLTL. Here is her response to a fan on FB...

I love hearing everyone's ideas for the show, but honestly, I don't know that I want to see Jack and Erica yet again unless the new writing team has some sort of marvelous plan for them that has NOT been done before with them. We've seen them get together, fall for each other again, and then break up again over and over and over again, and NO writer on AMC has managed to bring them together and make it work. I've finally come to the conclusion that they don't work together long-term if the writers are being true to the characters.

I'd rather see Erica do something else or be with someone else. I'd love it if she found an alive Mike Roy (but only if played by Nick Surovy). I'd love it if Dimitri came back sans Alex and was interested in her. I'd love it if she got back together with David Hayward. I'd even be open to her having a romance with a Hollywood film mogul or something (not Kit Sterling) if he was played by a good actor, and the chemistry was there. I loved watching Erica and Edmund on screen together - have John Callahan grow a goatee or something and cast him as a new character. Just please, please, not another round of Erica attempting to be the happy homemaker wife Jack really wants and failing miserably at it.

I'd love to see more Mike/Erica, or Erica on his own. I know Erica is not suited for muddled spy stories, especially at this point, but when I wrote the Bobby Martin stuff I would have had them spending some time together, before she would remember who he was (since she likely barely noticed Bobby, if they ever met at all), after Mike Roy gives her some type of info that she has to give to Bobby, or something along those lines. And maybe they'd grow closer, depending on the actors or chemistry. I really want to see Mike/Erica again though (Erica: You were supposed to be dead! Mike: We both know there's only one thing that can kill me, Erica.)

I think the whole idea tossed around a while back about Erica tracing her roots would be interesting too.
