And played by a better actor! He was a more enjoyable character than too! I loved how he stood up for her mother when that evil bitch Phyllis trashed her in Restless Style. And how he listen to his mother when she told him to do something.

However, what gets me is not the fact that MAB had to take Maura West (and honestly, Babs Bloom could have done a lot worse for her -- Terri Conn, anyone?) but rather that MAB deliberately sabotaged MW and Diane just to prove a stupid point. Yeah, okay, you're big, bad Maria, and your late father-in-law built this [!@#$%^&*] show from the ground up and still looks over your shoulder as you "write" (or so you say). We get it. But look at what we, the viewers, lost in the long run: we lost a good actress (who, yes, was miscast for her particular role) as well as one of the best characters this show ever had. And all for the sake of your ego. It's pathetic, and it's childish.

Darius McCrary, Maura West and (to a lesser extent) Eden Riegel were the worst recasts in Y&R history, bar none.

Maura West was not nearly as terrible as McCrary and Riegel. Darius McCrary was a joke! Maura West is anything but. Her performance was never the problem- it was the writing. Sorry, but I call bullsh!t on Maura being called Worst anything on Y&R.

You may as well add Debbi Morgan too.

These were fine. I'm actually amazed that you'd put Muhney in that list.

Maura West is a fine actress but COMPLETELY wrong for the part of Diane. All those actors you mentioned (bar McCrary and Riegel) were at least the right age and look for their respective roles. Maura West was a 40-year-old blonde playing a 50-year-old brunette. I would've been fine with her as a Grace Turner recast.
