That GlowWorm (sp?) set needs to die.

I imagine it's one of those sets JFP will see and will want to remodel or blow it the f.uck up.

One of many reasons why I hated his HW time at Y&R, And they are still together stinking up the place with Josh Morrrow crowing everytime he isnt with her...cough...Maura West..cough....

See, to me Nick and Phyllis are putrid, but I didn't have a huge issue with the affair. That was fine, but that should have been short-lived and should not have turrned into this endless cycle of stupidity and couchsex. It does not do either character any favors. Phick is now just an excuse for Morrow to be lazy as [!@#$%^&*] and Stafford to chew scenery like a hungry hippo

I don't even know if they still have the budget, but it wouldn't be a JFP show if she didn't eventually remodel some sets. You all know how much she likes that sh!t...

The least they could do is give these damn sets some better lighting as well.

SSM: Actually, I was hired well before Lynn. I was brought back as story consultant to help Jack and Kay, really hired by Sony and the Bells. It wasn't until 6 months later that Lynn arrived. It was great for me to work with Jack, Kay and the other writers again. With Jack and Kay, it was like I'd never left. The show was doing great, we had just married Lauren and Michael, I created the Nick/Phyllis love story and the ratings were great but then Lynn came in and we all knew she was there to take over for Jack. She and I were never competing for the HW job because she was the choice of the network person, Barbara Bloom. She wanted Lynn in the job and she wanted Jack out. Sony and the Bells went along with it and Lynn got the job. She never wrote a bible or any long term document. I had done one before I arrived and there were several stories in there that we should've done, especially one for Brad (and no, I don't mean the ridiculous Nazi storyline). My story involved his former wife, Lisa who had locked him in the cage many years ago. We never used it because when Lynn took over, her time was spent getting rid of anyone who knew the show. She was a total disaster and the worst experience I've ever had as a writer.

Another dreadful couple in Lauren and Michael...total WTF pairing....and I wonder what exactly in mind Sally had for the story.

They can redo every set but three:

Katherine's house

The Abbott home

Victor's office

Otherwise, have at it JFP. The Athletic Club has never really worked (aside from it's wonderful rooftop which they used for a season), Glow Worm is disgusting, Victoria and Billy's house is the ugliest house in Y&R history, Cain and Lily's house looks like some Tempe, Arizona Home Depot experiment gone awry, Genevieve's house looks like an 1800s mansion (in Wisconsin, really?), Tucker's place looks like an IKEA staging suite and the Newman Ranch is so damn dated looking Debbie Gibson feels right at home.

I can see Stafford, Bergman, Rikkart, Leblanc, Muhney, and Goddard being FOJs. If she is to use someone as an avatar, hope it's not Gloria.

Aren't some of those sets so old they are falling apart? Yeah she's definitely gonan do some remodeling.

Gloria and Jeffrey are such a non-entity, I don't even know why they're still on the show.

Barbara Bloom, their biggest cheerleader, isn't in the mix anymore...

MS is by far the worst when it comes to camp followed by Billy always hungover Miller. That effing screeching when Big Red misscarried was one of the worst nails on a chalk board scenes sicne Dru's death.

I've seen that interview but it's not entirely accurate. IIRC, in the later years, he had love scenes with Florencia, one with Renee Goldsberry, and (ugh) Barbara Niven. Unfortunately these scenes were few and far between.

Are we talking about a peck here and there, commercial break and then lying in bed with afterglow? I wasn't watching when RJ and Vange were together, but I remember he and BN lying in bed afterwards. There was no love scene at all. IIRC, REG was put with one non black male after the other and was given plenty of hot love scenes. TS never got that. Not that I wanted to see it because I hate his dreds. But he was telling the truth. Now, I'm not sure, but did he really get loves scenes with FL or "afterglow"?

Penis envy continues on Daytime, but it really puzzles me with Cartooni because neither of that 2 headed hack like girls.

She needs to get rid off all of them except for Bergman. Rikkart, Leblanc, Muphney, Stafford, Goddard and Chapman can go.......

Y&R had a ton of OTT camp the last time it reinvented itself in such a major way (the early '80s, with psycho Eve, Katherine gaslighting Suzanne, Victor keeping Michael prisoner), but they seemed to treat this very seriously. Now soaps don't know how to do camp - it's always done as a joke, a lewd wink. And the actors can't pull it off. If Michelle Stafford played camp today she'd be like Joan Crawford circa Trog.

Certainly correct... then again, few can pull off campy like Margaret Mason and make it believeable. But how incredibly well done and gothic this is... and notice how Margret delicatley turns the knife during the closeup, so it catches the light and glints at the camera in a menacing way:

Yeah afterglow is different than full outlove scene and there were more full out love scenes in the 90s than now. Terrible about Rachel at least she was brought back and not killed off after having been comatose for a few years.

Sony already let there last two EP/HW run rampany throygh the show, I dont expect them to let JFP do the same, they along with CBS will be very hands on, which means you will still proll;y see more of Phick and Lane since CNS and Sony loves them.

I hope they get Meg Bennett in front of the camera again. I'd love to see more of Julia and her family since leaving Genoa City, and it would bring in some fresh blood while still having links to the past. And she could be a confidant to Victor, someone who would talk some sense to him. Just drop the whole weird thing from 2002 where she was gaga for him.

Meg would be more of a benefit to the writing team.

Though, she did write for and act on the show for a period of time in the late 80's. Bill just didn't let her write episodes she appeared in.
