Well, that just makes it worse because they chose to forgo the usage of a lovely name so that they could call her "Babe" - a nickname (not to be confused with the term of endearment that it is meant to be) that shouldn't be used on anyone over the age of 12.

There was a story behind it. Krystal hated the name and only named her Arabella after an aunt of hers that had money, thinking she'd inherit it. The aunt didnt put Krystal in her will but instead left it to her cat. From there on, she never called Babe by Arabella. She would call her Baby Doll and Babe was short for that. It made sense in context wtih the characters but from someone looking in who never watched, I can see why they wouldnt get that

She was a good girl?

Not at first, but she became one

I liked Babe for the most part but thought it was a huge mistake having her go by that name. LOL. She should've just gone by her actual name Arabella or a different nickname, like Bella!

Exactly. I'd have probably given the girl a chance if she was called Bella, Arabella, or even Ara...laugh.png

I loved Alexa Havin's Babe. She's probably one of my favorite soap actresses on AMC from when I started watching.

There were so many names that she could have been called Bella, Belle, Ara, etc.

She was a good girl?

The show didn't know what they wanted to do with her which is why her characterization kept changing. She was at times a comedic villain, then she was an ingenue, then she was a heroine and at some point they decided to make her some hybrid of an anti-heroine/anti-villain in order to keep up with JR. She was anything that would contrast or enhance JR's characterization. Alexa played her more as a good girl with a lot of unresolved issues though.

Thanks for the background, though I still think that Babe sucks as any kind of name (and I'm not even going to go there with how wrong it is to call a grown ass woman "Baby Doll").

I didn't like Robin on GH from the time she returned to GH in 2005 on. I hated how she was written and I think KMc played Robin very cold. And I loved Robin up until she left the first time. She was probably my fave female in those years next to Felicia and Tiffany.

@JaneAusten

Not sure when I began hating Robin but I did - I violently hated her, and it was not healthy for me. She leaves at a time when I don't watch GH, and that upsets me as I have wanted her gone for so long. Good riddance to that overrated bore!

I don't hate you! Robin's tenure from 2005-2012 is my least favorite. While I did enjoy her quite a bit and did like Scrubs, the Robin of the 21st century just didn't compare to 1980's/1990's Robin.

Part of the issue for me was the pairing. I hated how they wrote her in that pairing and they bored me and I actually don't miss her on the show at all. But that has more to do with not caring about GH and that the canvas got to a point where characters like Robin became useless.

Robin somehow managed to suck the sexy out of Patrick. She was poorly written from the time she came back, but so was every character who wasn't a mobette. She was shown as being a great friend, then she turned around and was disloyal.

Maybe if Kim McC played her with more warmth, she might have worked better. Not sure, because I think the orders were that every character on GH existed to prop a favored few.

Speaking of Robin Scorpio and unpopular opinions:

She and JJ Lucky should have been the young leads of this show. Both beloved legacy characters that had ties to everyone (that mattered) on the canvas would've served this show a lot better than whatever it pulled out of its ass.

Forgoing that easy route while:

a. emasculating Lucky throughout his subsequent recasts to prop up the roided goiter

b. treating Robin as if she were fortunate to be even breathing the same air as Trifecta of Suck or her assbag husband

is another reason why GH kicked the bucket.

I never bought Scrubs, and I would only wish GH was on long enough so Patrick can get his sexy back. That albatross, Robin, did him no favors!
