I agree obviously Cam was joking...but still the press release went on about the great sets and I just think its sad that when a show like AMC goes all out it amounts to the type of set that is typical on GH. Why is it so much more expensive for the east coast shows to be produced?

I really hope Cady was kidding...first, she would not have given the reason Dixie was gone right? And this is too stupid. Too stupid for McT? There is no such thing. But I still think she was joking.

East Coast soaps are more expensive? Considering that the east coast soaps have traveled to Florida, in and around NYC in the past couple of years and GH has managed to get outside to the parking lot (ONCE)....I would like to think that east coast soaps have a tad bit more money.

Also, I don't think GH has anywhere near as much grand ballrooms or whatever. They show the hospital, the docks and Sonny's home...that's it. If you're lucky, you get the Q mansion.

I think Cady was joking about the flash forzen thing, just the tone in her voice. They would not reveal why she was gone on an entertainment show anyway..... the soaps have big enough problems trying to get people to tune in as it is.

Sure, AMC has spent a lot more money on location shooting in recent years than most West Coast soaps but shooting on the East Coast is a lot more expensive than the West Coast, in all areas. Realty is much more expensive, and shipping and constructing sets in a studio in crowded Manhattan is a lot harder than doing so in the suburbs of L.A.

One thing about Cady that's interesting to note -- She said "co--" but quickly corrected herself and said, "Uh, car accident." Seems like she was about to say coma. But she was laughing and smiling throughout the whole thing so I don't know if we can take anything she said as serious scoops.

A coma would then be realistic..... I think maybe she was in a coma but not for the full time, she recovered and was a changed woman.... obviously in the little we did see of Dixie at Christmas time, she isn't the same Dixie we knew back in 2002.

Okay first of all why would erica invite kwak, amanduh and babe to her ball? Babe and kwak stole her granddaughter and erica blames amanduh for drugging her next week, so this makes no sense to me. As for the dresses I love kendall, erica, dani, and simone's dresses. Anita, kwak, babe, di, and lily have the worst dresses. Janet reminds me of the fairy godmother from Shrek 2, opals dress is eccentric but the hair is a no-no, why do they have brooke all covered up???, I hate the feathers on julia's dress, why does di dress look like they killed a reptile???lol An out of the men david looks the best, and jack looks the worst, and I'm not being biased, I just hate white tuxedos.

    • It does, and I don't get it. This feels like Josh Griffith's middle finger to fans. They're end game, right? That's how most people feel. So what reason could there be to keep them apart? Are we supposed to wait until Y&R is canceled and then see them reunite in the last month? Joshua Morrow and Sharon Case have FIRE chemistry with each other -- and they strain to have any chemistry at all with anyone else. Isn't that obvious by now? I can't explain it, but we've all seen it. A decent writer could give us Shick AND good stories with them.
    • Ben Collins, CEO of the company that owns The Onion, says they don't use A.I.
    • As long as Kent and Griffith are in charge, the show is doomed.
    • To clarify, they didn't really date.  They pretended to be on a date once or twice due to a an interest in fooling someone else at the event/restaurant/whatever.  It wasn't planned by them to be real.   I think one of them became sort of interested at some point ?
    • A shame the Ben/Thomasina tease didn't go anywhere.  I didn't know until last year that they brought Thomasina back a few days before Quinn was murdered. I guess it's nice that they got those last moments of happiness but then you remember they never would have brought her back if they weren't going to kill Quinn off.
    • Very. It's VERY annoying, too.
    • I just remember Kristina coming on to her slightly and val freaking out
    • Not trying to be a contrarian, but I don't think the show needs a rival family.  Rival families have been over-done on soaps since the 1980s. And it might make the show too predictable.  I'd prefer they beef-up the have-not group with perhaps a couple of workers from the Country Club and one or two Dupree servants, joining the existing group of have-nots.  They could all know one another without being a real "family."  That would give the audience more opportunity to see Fairmont Crest life from the "backstairs."  To me this would be a far more interesting perspective than another wealthy family to rival the Duprees.
    • I wonder if that's why Valerie quit. I think some of the magazines at the time implied issues with Valerie and the producer, although I may be wrong. Painting Diana as going bad would have made more sense to me near the end of her run.
    • Carter & Thomasina were also stuck with a baby almost immediately and didn't get much to do after they finished high school. Carter's father was killed off and Marley drifted out of their friend group because of Jake. They left town after Carter's father died (of tomb dust!) and before Quinn died (unreasonably murdered by the Sin Stalker for dating Zack Edwards).
