B&B: February Discussion Thread

Well I wish Liam would just go ahead and bust out her silica packets already because obsessing over her virginity is not only tedious, but when she does finally lose it, okay, so now what? There will probably be an over-produced love making sequence, and she'll either be satisfied or filled with instant regret, to which I'd say get over it.

Is this the type of show to "teach a lesson" and make her infertile or something?

I think we will see her have sex, deeply regret it, and go to sex therapy. They did this with Victoria on Y&R, although that story wasn't about a triangle, so it was less contrived.

Who knows? I'd like to teach Brad a lesson, which is it's really not such a big deal. This isn't 1920 and Hope isn't the Princess of Wales. Nobody gives a damn about her cherry. Having a disappointing first time is all but a rite of passage for females.

I wish Sabryn Genet were still in the business. Then Tricia could arrive on B&B and tell Hope to never, ever have sex, because a bad lay MAKES YOU INSANE.

I mean, where are the people telling Hope that waiting for marriage is actually a pretty risky plan? You could end up with a partner who is both incompatible with you or very disappointing? If you want a marriage that is going to last, taking your intended out for a test drive is a no brainer. Too bad Brooke is too busy talking up Hope's ridiculous principles to give her daughter any decent advice. I could see it if they portrayed Hope as deeply religious or something, but just to avoid being like her mother? Whatever, show.

I have a handful of friends/acquaintances who for religious reasons waited until marriage, and do you know they were all married before they were 22. I think it just makes you crazy for sex and you run the risk of rushing into a marriage that may end in divorce, or even worse really, convincing yourself that you're in love when you may actually be "settling".

They should have a story where someone just doesn't enjoy sex. Hope seems like she would fit that bill.

It's too racy for daytime, but it would be interesting if they, ahem, touched upon the issue of masturbation with people like Hope.

I think we've had that story with Stephenie. They've implied that's why Eric cheats on her every chance he gets. I do think they are going there with Hope too though.

Ha! I'd love to see a story where Hope waits and waits, then finally marries Liam and finds out he's into something super kinky that she can't handle. ohmy.png

Right, and again it's daytime so it can't get too racy, but when you're telling an abstinence story like this, there are girls and guys who are all or nothing, or do "everything but" (one t ph34r.png ).

We can have Hope annul the marriage because Liam wants backdoor loving. Brooke offers to take her daughter's place...

I thought of Stephanie as being someone who doesn't enjoy sex, but that seems to have happened only in more recent years. She was more of a lustful person (in writing, at least) in the 80's and 90's.

That reminds me of the abstinence only skit SNL had in the late 90's, one of the last sketches I laughed at the whole way through.

If I were a fan fic writer I would have Hope come home one day to find Liam trying out some clothes from the Forrester Intimates line. What I wouldn't pay to have the limits of daytime stretched just for this one story. tongue.png Only because Hope has been so self righteous about not giving it up, not because I think that's an appropriate story for an afternoon soap.

Yeah, I think they made that Eric's excuse retroactively. As if Stephenie had always been so frigid, so hot blooded Brooke was irresistible. Ugh!

And there was that infamous anniversary show scene where they were loudly and enthusiastically bumping uglies at the cabin much to everyone else's chagrin.
