Dance Moms...

  • Member

I've seen commercials for this Lifetime series but hadn't watched. I was up late on Wednesday and finally caught an episode. It's interesting.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ku576pW5DSE

It's like Real Housewives (kind of fun) combined with Toddlers and Tiaras and Beyond Scared Straight (kind of disturbing). There's the weird, tense dynamic between the moms, cliques - and then there's the crazy, mean, and kind of evil dance teacher. She's talented but crazy, mean and evil. The parents sometimes stand up to her but they keep on coming back.

Nervous mom, whose kid is on "probation," to teacher: We bought you a gift for allowing [insert kids name] to train under you.

Other Moms roll their eyes as teacher opens the Chanel perfume.

One Mom about the gift to camera: She should have gotten her a membership to Weight Watchers, it would have gone a much longer way.

I was shocked to see Melissa and the girls talk about how they are friends outside of the show, which is shocking bc they seem to not stand her and she doesnt seem to want to do much with them, not to mention all the nasty words thrown around

LOL at the host setting the moms up by getting them to badmouth Cathy and then goes "well Cathy, come on out!" laugh.png

Kaya's on next time! Shocking considering she was never really a dance mom and only had one episode without even an exit. She calling Christy a bitch looks like its gonna be fun. BTW, Soapboy, what did you think of her?

I haven't seen all of her episode yet! I saw like half of it! I really need to get around to watching that full episode but my immediate impression was that she was a bitch who needed to have a seat! LOL but we'll see once I finish the episode.

There was really no reason at all for Kaya other than to stir up drama and have an antagonist for an episode. I'd rather see the moms tear that self-entitled biyotch Leslie a new one. Ugh, she was grating on the nerves. Just a catty, delusional shrew.

I agree, it wasn't shocking or revealing. I'm glad Melissa was more open about the status of her boyfriend/fiance's marital status and the reason why she wanted to keep mum. Everything else was pretty much rehashing what we already know.

to me if anything that made the other woman come across as bitches. They knew the situation and why Melissa wanted it to be private, yet they kept prodding and had it air all on tv. They should have just respected Melissa's wishes to drop it and leave it alone, especially Christy. Its no one's business

It's not necessarily their business but there's no denying she has been shady as HELL and the whole legal letter thing was shady, too.

You are definitely correct in that.

Now what they REALLY should've done is pick apart what good buddies Melissa and Abby are, and the alleged financing that Melissa's fiance provided for Abby's studio, which was otherwise on the brink of bankruptcy until her newfound fame came about...

I thought so at first but after she repeatedly told them to drop it bc she didnt want to discuss it on camera, they should have. Knowing the info now, I cant fault her for it and those women made it seem necesary. Almost seemed like a passive aggressive move to expose her as an adultress as there doesnt seem to be any other reason to want to air this all out

Well it is kind of shady if she took up with a married man. And I am wondering if the producers really pushed the other moms to do that.

Also, the episode where Leslie is [!@#$%^&*] talking Melissa to Jill just had my jaw on the floor. I couldn't believe the story about Halloween. I wonder if that's true.

Thern if they want to judge her for that and think its shady, then call her out on it. Dont try and actlike these concerned friends who just want to celebrate her engagement on air in front of everyone bc they just care so much. If they really cared about her, then wouldnt have made an issue about it. This makes them come across shady in their own way.

Oh and Im sure producers played a role. There's alot of meddling to go around

Lmao I'm watching the nationals episode again. It's the one where Abby goes way too far and says that Kelly needs to take Paige to a doctor. Understandably, Kelly storms out.

But what had be ROLLING was when Christi said "Now, I've seen Kelly storm out a time or 20 but this felt different"

And when Holly said "It's a SOLO Jil, calm down!"

If you dont want your person life broadcast on a reality show - dont be on a reality show.

if you dont want to look bad for getting engaged to a married man - dont get engaged to a married man.

Anyone see the season premiere? I felt so bad for the new mom...the old ones were such bitches to her! Well all except Holly. Christi was the absolute worst and made me dislike her more. They know how Abby doesnt like people going behind her back or against her and they wanted to set up the new mom to do that, which of course would make her get on Abby's bad side. She shouldnt have been hating on her and made her feel uncomfortable bc she didnt pull her daughter from the dance.

Speaking of Shelly, doesnt she look like a cross between Caroline Manzo and Jacqueline from RHoNJ?

Totally loved the premiere, but if Kelly doesn't come back I'm probably not going to keep watching. I have to disagree Cheap, Christi had every reason to be resentful towards Shelly. It was not right that Ally (is that the girls name?) came in and on DAY one stole the solo that Chloe worked hard for. Now, was that Shelly's fault? No. But Christi had a right to be pissed, and I think she was right. If Shelly truly wanted to be on a good foot with these women, she should have maybe asked Abby about the situation.

Also, Kelly is Christi's best friend. Shelly is Kelly's replacement. Anybody in Christi's place would be a bit resentful towards her.

Actually enjoyed Jill this week, too. And not like I did before - for the crazy, lunatic, bitch she was. But she actually was kind of rational this week. And while still crazy and delusional about her daughter, she was more tolerable.

Christi should have brought that up with Abby, not Shelly. Ally didnt steal Chloe's solo. That would imply that she had her eye on it, went after it and took it away from her. No thats not what happened. Abby thought she would be better fit for it, so she gave it to her. Neither Ally or Shelly were responsible for that.

Its really not Shelly's place as a new mother in the group to dictate how the dances should go, by going against Abby, the dance instructor who just gave her daughter an amazing oppurtunity. It would be crazy of her to defy Abby this early and it was pure selfishness on Christi's part to suggest that she do so. I felt bad for Shelly bc that was borderline bullying. She wants to fit in best she can but she doesnt to be pushed around and pressured into being put in a bad siutation either. Those women minus Holly are a pack of wolves, screaming, bitching and ready to argue at a moment's notice and thank god Shelly didnt stoop to that level although Im sure there will be a point where they eventually push her too far. It was childish of Christi to give her the cold shoulder bc she's not Kelly. Kelly chose to leave on her own accord so get over it

For me, this season feels like that season of reality shows where it goes from "reality" to scripted.

Yup.

I wonder if Christi & Kelly's relationship has changed now that Christi and Melissa are in some lil business together? At least that's what they briefly mentioned on that weird preview special.
