Oh my God I am dead at "his spokesperson, Gail Baldwin." LMAO

I've just been enjoying Carly a little bit more lately, and I think they've finally been writing her better. I like it better when she's being written as the bitch everyone hates, instead of the bitch who thinks she rules the world and everyone is scared of her. And LW has very good chemistry with Brandon Barash. I'm by no means a FAN of hers...I'm just not hating her.

Sonny to Anthony: "BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU SAY ABOUT HER BECAUSE I DONT THINK JOHNNY'S GONNA WANT YOU TALKING ABOUT HIS MAMA LIKE THAT!" ugh, LMAO at the way Sonny said that.

I wonder which child of Sonny's Anthony is going to target?

Johnny sad.png Wow. That last scene was intense. What was that piano cue that was playing? It sounded familiar but I'm not sure, and it fit PERFECTLY for the Zacchara's. The piano!

Johnny's way of killing Anthony was ruining his orchids - love that. Great stuff GH.

Liz & Ethan bonding was random and I hope GH doesn't go any farther w/those to. Can you imagine? Liz being with Lucky, Nik, and then Ethan. Just no! I hope they just stay good, card playing friends.

I think Friday/Monday.

The guy who Michael thinks was attacking those strippers ended up dead and Dante found Michael with the body with a gun though he says he is innocent. When Delores and Ronnie came and asked if Dante saw anything, he said no.

As long as the signatures on the infamous "piece of paper" a.k.a. the marriage license are legit, Gun Runner's legitimately ordained and the witnesses can attest to the nuptials taking place (i.e. Maxie and Luke), they're married. However, since I don't recall seeing anyone sign anything, there could be that possible loophole to get Tracy out of this. However, since I don't know where this story is going, maybe they had Tracy marry Anthony for a specific reason other than what's being shown as of now.

Wow! The stuff with Lulu is heating up & so far I'm impressed. Great moments w/her and Maxie...damn Lulu had a lot of wine bottles stashed around the house! Also that last scene with Luke and Lulu was great!

More effortless work by Brandon B, that first scene when he was talking to Claudia was so good. Dude knows how to shed tears! I didn't care for his scenes with Kate but loved him with Carly as usual. Another kiss! biggrin.png

Anyone else get the feeling that Ronnie is the one attacking the dancers?

Technically….. I know, GH and technicalities…. ….. three things have to happen for a marriage to be legitimate: First they have to be legally free to be married (a big question), second they have to consent to be married (which she didn't) and finally they have to be witnessed to be married (hence the signed certificate by witnesses), all done under the authority of someone legally granted the responsibility to oversee such rites (another huge question mark). There are so many ways this marriage is probably not legit.

From my perspective, either outcome has potential and we'll just have to see where it goes. I don't like the thought of LuNacy being split in the first place and think there is a whole lot of story if they are working Anthony. On the other hand Tracy and Luke involved in opposite sides of the PC mob scenes has possibilities too.

Can't wait for Luke/Lulu to continue. There is so much to deal with in that relationship.

As for BB - loved how he went from truly devastated at one point to looking quite insane when he blew up the pier or warehouse (whichever it was). He had me sad and laughing with next to no effort. PLEASE give this guy an Emmy nod.

    • Long ago, this Rachel fan channel uploaded a number of clips of Rachel with Felicia during the alcoholism story, and this one in particular stands out for me.

And then you have this scene, which is the dark mirror of the above, especially the final moment: By the late '80s, especially after Wallingford's death, those times were gone, and Donna Swajeski added further misery to Felicia with the Gold Street backstory. Luckily, after a bit of time the show found a good framing for this new twist on Felicia. The stories with finding and losing a love from her past, learning that a woman she hated was the daughter she'd spent years searching for, sinking into alcoholism, they all fit into the type of material suited for the '40s and '50s screen goddesses. When Dano tried some of this old weepy type of material when she went back to ABC, it mostly fell flat, as the atmosphere wasn't the same and her character always felt shoehorned in. It worked perfectly at this period on AW because you had Iris, you had Rachel, you had Donna - you had a number of tough-but-vulnerable women of a certain age, most of them grandmothers by this point, but still trying to find love, find themselves. This is what AW could have had earlier if they hadn't dumped Pat and Alice, but better late than never. This is an approach you saw more often on British soaps than on US soaps, which for a number of years respected women in that age group. Both UK and US soaps have done away with this, both countries having the ladies devolve into perpetual ingenues (with added doses of endlessly self-aware camp in the UK) or just being shipped off entirely. You could even see that on AW with the treatment of Iris (shipped off, never to be mentioned again, too old to return), Donna (repeatedly humiliated and crippled), Felicia (regressed into degrading herself with married John), Rachel (mother to newborn twins, put into lengthy periods of trauma through her new relationship with Carl).
    • I'm of a certain age where I caught some of Upton's final year and it was not great but Jean Holloway was worse. All I remember is Bambi, Bambi, Bambi!
    • Yes, of course, all of those servants added to the overall picture at AW & also people had relationships with those servants! I like it when Anita asks after one of the servants at the club, how their children are doing & like that.
    • Great scenes between Marlena and EJ today. Paula and Jeanne are making EJ have more depth than Ron had during his long drawn out tenure.
    • Might as well say it, Minority opinion, granted, but I like Joss & I'm okay with this WSB story & i hope that Emma will be their next recruit & she & Joss can be partners.
    • Thanks again @Paul Raven The Arlene/Ben/Betsy triangle is one I wish I could see for myself as on paper it doesn't tend to excite me but I can see how well-constructed it was. I wish I could see the Rick/Meg relationship too, although I wish they'd had him genuinely fall for Meg after he gets together with Cal. The whole Brooke/Deacon/Bridget story on B&B was horribly damaging to Brooke as a character but it was dramatically very sound because I could completely believe Deacon would fall for messy and vulnerable Brooke after finally settling down with the more docile Bridget.

    • According to the head writer list, it seems the show may have started to fall apart while either the Schneiders or Upton were writing. And when it started to crumble, it crumbled fast. It was sad to see everything Labine had brought to LOL be disassembled.
