I can't think of one off-hand. But since JR's liable to be the only male Chandler on the canvas, it has to be someone slightly older, with a more commanding presence.

I wouldn't recast the role for quite a while. If Jacob isn't available then I would look at someone like Jesse Soffer. Or, although I'm not a fan, Tom Pelphrey.

Lord, I could see AMC hiring TP just to recreate the "magic" between him and Stephanie Gatschet in a big Madison/Scott/JR triangle. No thanks.

Oh I forgot about her. Ugh.

I just meant that he is able to do intensity and random shouting, which seems to make up a lot of JR in recent years.

Given JR's reaction to Bianca and Marissa, that would be so ironic, lol!

Steal Mark Lawson from OLTL.

For Jamie? Yes (although Tom Degnan would be a good choice, too). For JR? I'm not sure.

I like this. I like the way he plays "strong" and how there is a kind of quiet strength to a lot of his work that can also in a way turn vicious and formidable while still carrying some depth to it. I'm a fan of layers. I also like that I can see his heart in a lot of his scenes even when he is covering it with bravado. While I hear the criticisms that JR needs to have more gravitas and be a leading figure (i.e. older) but at the same time I also think he needs to have some softening of the edges too. I don't want JR to be so much older because I still think there is so much more the character has to deal with. I also think JR in real time is reasonable younger person/character then Jacob himself is. More on the character front, JR is not an Adam clone and to be honest he really doesn't need to be. I would be all for a broken bird Dixie's son archetype enthused in the role instead of this sociopath who wishes to harm just because he is so jaded, embittered and angry enough to want others to pay. I think Tom Phelphery would be dynamic but would also be a step further into the Adam clone way of seeing the character (dastardly villain protagonist) which I am just not particularly interested in. I'm just done with the yelling, self-destructing, angry JR. He needs to change and be a character with more depth and variety. That just needs to happen.

Jay Kenneth Johnson

Tom Pelphrey

Mark Collier

Greg Vaughan

Mark Lawson (if he doesn't stay with OLTL)

Jonathan Jackson

Oh god please no. I do not want his peach fuzz & waterfall tears taking over AMC!

Collier and Vaughan might be too old. Especially if they were put in scenes w/ MEK or CM.

TSJ? Oh, for pete's sake. Cady McClain was born in 1969. TSJ, only two years later. Now, I realize actors' RL ages should make no difference...but come on!

LMFAO. I love him but no. Just no. Now that's WAY to old for JR!

I think Jay Kenneth Johnson would be a really good fit for JR!
