DAYS: October Discussion Thread

I loved the mentions of Harper. Is there something in Missy's contract that Peter can't be mentioned? This is a bit ridiculous. At the very least mention when that idiot shacked up with Patrick Lockhart, before he moved on to Hope. Searching for Harper clips made me really want Anjelica on the show. I think she could add a lot of flavor to the Kiriakis storylines -- especially if Justin's other son, Andrew, came on the scene.

I'd LOVE it. Otherwise, I have no idea who did it. Making Stefano responsible would be lazy.

Ah, that's right. Alex. Anjelica kidnapped him and faked their deaths, right? But then just returned him. I'd love for the Kiriakis family to have some real drama, and it could add an extra layer to Sonny's story. I have the feeling that Alex would be a bit of a bad seed.

That could be fun. Let's give Tracy her "Happily Ever After" on GH with Luke - no character deserves it more IMO. Then have Anjelica turn up on Days (which at this point looks like the show that will be on longer). I can just imagine the tension and energy between Victor/Maggie/Ned/Adrienne with her there, lol.

I agree 100%. I'll always fondly remember Patrick Muldoon as being the catalyst who broke up Zack & Kelly on Saved by the Bell. Not to mention his wonderful Debbie-Downer portrayal of moody jerkoff Richard Hart on Melrose Place. But anytime I or the hubby (also a Melrose junkie) see him onscreen now, we literally cringe. ("Eww! Why did they bring him back???" hubby says.) Granted, he's gotta butterface complex going on now, cuz from a recent photoshoot outtake with him and Christie Clarke, we see that his body is still BANGIN'.... but unless they go all Ford brothers on us and have Austin sans shirt every other episode, we're only gonna see that weathered face. I don't mean to harp on just his looks, because the portrayal is also rather somber and outdated. Moody, pouty, angst-ridden Sweet Valley teen is the perfect description, LOL.

Peck was certainly cast for his pecs and not his talent, but he did make the role is own and the show was still plenty popular by the time he arrived in 1995 that he would help in the whole cause to bring back old DAYS nostalgia.

On to another topic of former DAYS faves who've had their day.... I was very surprised the other day when my mother of all people said she hopes Jennifer picks Daniel. Wha????? (p.s. I kinda agree!)

I'm so glad other people see it the way I do. Nostalgia is only good if what you're recollecting reminds you of what was. Muldoon reminds me of why I wear SPF 15 everyday, that if I start losing my hair that I'll just buzz it all off and that it is NOT 1992 anymore.

And I agree, I hope Jennifer picks Daniel. Jack can kiss my ass and get off my screen!

I hope Jen chooses Daniel too because the bigger overall longer term arc story will be about Jack/Jen getting closer again and you can play more with their emotions and longing. M&D will just have to show that Jack is #1 in Jen's heart. And I would love to see more scenes like when after having sex with Daniel, Jen got out of bed and looked out the window. This is M&D's only story where they can play this type of story because John/Marlena, Bo/Hope, Austin/Carrie, Rafe/Sami are all married.

THis same story with Jack and Jennifer has just run its course. I would actually like to see Jack for a change be allowed to get a new love interest. Seriously in all these years who has JAck had. Kayla if you want to call that a legit love interest and Jennifer. I would really love to see he and Nicole tested out.

Oh, I want to see Jack get another love interest too but you still have the play the Jack/Jen card or even play their true love as an underlying theme. This is a long term story. I'm a huge fan of Reilly-1, so my mindset is almost always in that storyline structure.

Yes! This should be a long-term story. Have Jack take Jen at her word and step back. He connects with another woman (I wish Carly were still around/not a mess for this, but Billie would do, or Sarah Horton, or...). Jack and Jen slowly find their way back to one another, in the course of another, larger mystery.

And no, we don't need Maggie running around telling everyone, "Jennifer and Jack are still married IN THE EYES OF GOD!"
