Classic AMC/OLTL

^ It was "WTF" but at the same time, they all drove him to do something crazy. If Krystal, JR and Babe would have respected his wishes and stayed away from the mansion for a while so he could calm down, this might never have happened. But no, Krystal insisted on going home, and JR literally burst into the house. Because Krystal wouldn't leave, Tad wouldn't go either, and it all spiraled out of control, ending with Adam being committed against his will for no good reason. At that point he was NOT a threat to anyone.

Yea. Stuart was slightly involved. He was bitchin' out Adam the other night.

Also, what I came in here to post about OLTL. Having Miles lose it to a prostitute was probably Higley's worst idea. Though, I admit. As a straight red blooded American female. I really didn't mind seeing David Chisum shirtless all that much. biggrin.png

I wonder why they stopped showing classic OLTL instead of GH which is still on the air. I mean, I don't really "wonder", but...

Susan Lucci is so darned good at playing talk show host Erica, she is so charming and oddly naturalistic in this particular mode. Her little giggles melt me. I think I had just graduated college around this era and wasn't watching regularly. I definitely watched the first episode of New Beginnings but I didn't see any of this early stuff with Sabine. When I did start watching again, I was always confusing Annie for the new Greenlee.

Oh wow, thanks! I'm a night owl, but 5am is pushing it! I don't have a DVR with my FiOS so that sucks for me...

That does suck!

I try not to stay up that late anymore. But, meh. I find myself doing it anyways when my Ambien doesn't knock me out. My mom had to DVR it last night though. She was super pissed that GH had been switched to 3. Especially since OLTL skipped the episode where Henry Mackler rammed himself into a tree. Mom wanted to see that.

LOL, I don't even remember who Henry is!

I'm so tickled watching this New Beginnings episode because Walt as Jackson is so Walt, and Susan as Erica is so Susan on this recycled The View set. They're really behaving like their real-life selves. They're talking about their marriage showing old stills like they're casual photos, and Susan seemed to ad-lib a line to the cooing extras in the audience, pointing, "You were there. wink.png " Then there's her producer holding up this big ass sign that reads, "DIVORCE" for them to get back on topic. laugh.png

I loved the New Divorce! I think Jack and Erica were at their best when they could be funny and lighthearted. The main complaint I have about it - aside from Greenlee screwing up their reunion by kidnapping Spike - is that it was actually symptomatic of Jack and Erica's main problem: they didn't communicate well, and they never have.

It was Spring Awakening/Glee's Jonathan Groff. I think he was meant to have a school shooting story but they did a last minute rewrite because (sadly) there was some real school shooting around the same time.

I dmit I enjoyed that stuff too. And her producer of course was Patina Miller before she made her break starring in Sister Act in London and Broadway...

Ohhh, now I remember Henry, I recall that whole controversy. And I had no idea that was the lady from Sister Act. I saw her perform on The View when they did a story about Whoopi producing.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of hers. Even on AMC in her tiny rolke I felt she showed more charisma than a lot of similar (essentially) day players. I believe on that View she said AMC was her first major job.

This is some of Jonathan Groff's time on OLTL.

The horribly written girlfriend reminds me of Amanda Seyfried.

Just awful stuff.

    • Yeah. I wasn't feeling it either. If it was meant to be a chem test, it didn't work. I don't think so. Because I think Neil and Liz moved into that house after Stefano "died", and Neil lived there until he went to go see his patients and never came back

    • Canada aired a repeat today Tues. Nov. 18. So after being a day ahead for the past week, they will now be back in sync with U.S.
    • I was really starting to enjoy it, but after Anspach, Shelton and Keane left, it got a bit blah to watch. Jane Russell was great as Rose, Buddy Ebsen as Toat was interesting as well.  If a second season were in the cards, I would have signed  Karen Carlson on to a contract and cast a couple more women as regulars. The cowboy aspect could continue. Sam Elliott, as always, was fantastic,  The camaraderie between Roy and Quisto was really good as well. Cybill... she was sex on a stick and unapologetic.   Poor Robin Wright barely lasted five minutes, though, before being raped and murdered.
    • I love it that we've gone from daylight to dark -- Luna's even returned to work -- but Steffy is still sitting next to shirtless Finn on the sofa.

    • Is the current DiMera mansion the same mansion Stefano moved into around 1983?  I remember that house was out near a lake, and not far from Doug Williams' night club.  In fact, there was a tunnel connecting Doug's Place to the DiMera mansion.  If it supposed to be the same house, I'm fairly sure it is not the same set.  But I'm aware sometimes soap opera sets change without any explanation
    • Amazing work @slick jones I remember watching and enjoying Yellow Rose but losing interest once they went to self contained episodes, Interestingly that's the opposite of what Dallas, KL and FC did. So maybe YR should have been more episodic at first and then go to a fully fledged serial. But really the timeslot was the problem -Sat @10 was not the spot for a serial. And Rounders turned out to be a poor lead in. Maybe 9-11 Tues following A Team would have helped.
    • LOL!!! He looks like he is reacting as if Luna just passed bad gas or something.
    • Doug Marland came on board shortly before Gloria Monty, I believe. Jackie Smith was in charge of ABC daytime at that point. All of the characters in place were not his creations. Alan was created by Irving and Tex Ellman who wrote the hurricane story a few months before and brought in Alan, Scotty, David Hamilton, Dorrie and Lisa/Lana. His first character was  Bobbie in Jan 78. Apart from wrapping up the Lan/Lisa story he pretty much kept all the stories going just adding new elements.
    • She is 29... she's inching closer, and we know how important age is on soaps.
