I didn't care for Travis, and I didn't think he had the same chemistry with Erica that Jack did at the time, but I did enjoy watching Erica and Barbara fight. Initially it seemed like they had Travis set up to be the "good" brother and Jack was the bad seed, but then they switched it around, and Travis was the one faking his own kidnapping, and Jack was the "ethical" one who could sleep with his brother's wife but not tell a lie in court. blink.png Had Bianca not been in the picture, I think Erica would have quickly moved on to Jack and not looked back. I think she did love Travis, and she did try to make their second marriage work. I seem to recall her even suggesting that they have another baby, but Travis put the brakes on that because he knew Molly was his.

I loved her suggesting that she date both men on alternating days - only Erica could get away with that. There's a great scene with Jack and Brooke where Brooke figures out Erica's dating pattern with the brothers Montgomery and thinks it's hilarious.

IIRC, Larkin Malloy got the role, because he had just finished up as Kyle Sampson on GUIDING LIGHT, and because Susan Lucci had remembered him as Sky on EDGE OF NIGHT. (Speaking of, why AMC never thought to cast Sharon Gabet, who'd portrayed Raven on the latter show, as Barbara is beyond me. She would've been so much better than Susan Pratt.)

Frankly, the conspiracy theorist in me suspects someone BTS sabotaged Travis and Erica's relationship for no reason other than they didn't want LM and SL paired together anymore. Not that Travis and Erica had set Soapdom on fire, but boy does that whole fake kidnapping/insurance scam he cooked up with Steven Andrews come across today like a hatchet job. Unfortunately, neither Travis nor his relationship with Erica recovered from that.

There was a lot I disliked about the character of Zarf coming back as Zoe--and pairing him with Bianca, but in hindsight they actually handled the transexual issues quite well (with a standardAgnes Nixon style "circle talk with real life people" episode). Also this was when IMHO McTavish's run really started to fall apart, so it stood out...

I'm finding it more difficult to watch than before, the way most people treated Zoe/Zarf was just disgusting! Especially Jonathan and Ryan. I forget his name but the actor playing Zarf did an AMAZING job. I loved his "I have a penis, I am a man" speech/statement to Babe & Jonathan. Their scenes were great. I LOVE how much Babe believed in Zarf and stood by him no matter what.

The OLTL episode was interesting. I forgot how good Robin Strasser could be.

Also seeing TSJTodd so loving and tender with Blair,I forgot that I actually liked them at one time. I love TSJTodd and Tea, but I do think it's odd that Blair's history with him for those eight years was barely acknowledged once RHTodd returned. Her reaction to Victor was very similar to that of Starr.

I miss Bitchy Bangs. She made Rex tolerable, though I hated her keeping Sam from Todd.
