September 13, 201114 yr Member I get annoyed by the two of them when they're on their own, but together I find them entertaining.
September 13, 201114 yr Member I forgot about the debut. Unfortunately, he wasnt given Oprah's timeslot after all. He received Ellen's spot and she got Oprah's spot. I will have to tape tomorrow's show. This really just depends on where the affilate carrying the show puts it. For my affilate, Dr. Oz took Oprah's spot and Ellen stayed in the slot she has been in for years.
September 13, 201114 yr Member I'm watching Daniel Radcliffe on here now and he seems like a good egg.
September 13, 201114 yr Member The opening credits kind of annoy me. They seem half-finished, and also very dated - it looks like something that would be seen as hip in 1996. Ratings: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/showtracker/2011/09/anderson-cooper-gets-soft-ratings-in-talk-premiere.html

September 13, 201114 yr Member I liked much of what I was able to see, but my one complaint about the LA Times article is that it is his first week. Didn't Oprah change the tone/direction of her talk show during the first few years? I believe it's going to take some time for him to find his niche in the daytime world.
September 14, 201114 yr Member I doubt that he will ever talk about his sexuality on the air. True, it's common knowledge that he's gay and that he's been with his partner living in NYC for several years now (I've seen them as they lived in the same building as my ex), but being that he is a Vanderbilt, it will probably never be discussed, sort of an unspoken truth. Sad, but true. In Ent Weekly he skirted the issue saying depending on how he feels he will bring "more of his personal life" to the show as he thinks it's important to connect to a daytime host. I dunno, I don't hold out much hope--I don't think people need to be out by any means, but with Anderson it's all become so silly and I think does reflect badly on him, especially as he does discuss other personal things. I thought the show was OK. I admit i've never been a huge fan of his--but it definitely feels more solid than a lot of recent talk show debuts and I liked that he sems to be channeling Donahue (with the mix of subjects, questions from the audience, etc).
September 14, 201114 yr Member I watched/listened as I was getting ready to head out yesterday, and I thought it was good. I just felt like they were trying to stretch out a 30 min. interview into an hour-long one. There was space in the air. I didn't really mind that, it had a more casual feel and seemed more focused on conversation than trying to be a slick and tight production. But that energy won't work five days a week, though it most likely won't be a problem as I'm sure there will be lighter subject matter. I've seen some of Nate Berkus' show, and oy, I think he'd be better off on a panel, like a home improvement version of The Chew (The Screw?). Was Nate renewed? His show really is a mess--so much for Oprah's claim that she doesn't launch these people in their own shows until she's 100% sure they're ready. I mean I dislike Dr Phil with a passion, and am indifferent to Dr Oz and Rachel Ray but Nate doesn't seem to be anywhere near them in terms of being able to anchor his own talk show, poor guy. Though I do have a friend who watches just so he can see all the ways Nate works around hiding his increasingly thinning hair Edited September 14, 201114 yr by EricMontreal22

I agree that his show was just ok. Saw it for the first time today. I didnt like the set. The only good parts were his giggling...lol..and his shirtless segments on the show....lol I hope he does share more of his personal life. Was Nate renewed? September 14, 201114 yr Member I must have missed the shirtless bit I just tuned in and saw some of the Daniel R stuff.
September 14, 201114 yr Member I must have missed the shirtless bit I just tuned in and saw some of the Daniel R stuff. Yeah, shirtless Anderson was before Daniel R segment. He actually had two segments where he was shirtless. One of the scenes was Anderson covered in mud...lol...was funny...the guy has a hot chest..nice pecs too The other shirtless segment was him being measured and stuff for his image to be waxed...a duplicate of him in wax....lol...So he could be featured with all the other famous celebs who have a body double in wax done ...forgot the name of the place. September 14, 201114 yr Member Madame Tussaud's wax museum? Hrm I admit I actually don't find him the super hot "silver fox" everyone else seems to.
