I don't believe the unabortion should be that high up. I wouldn't even put it in the top 5. They really don't even give a reason why it's #1. As for most repugnant rewrite ever? I would give that to something like Mitch Lawrence raping Viki on her living room sofa.

I'm glad they included what happened to Zaslow. That "wizened old man" quote still sickens me, all these years later. Why would you say that?

Oy, the firing of Zaslow. That was some of the ugliest stuff I've ever seen in all my years as a soap watcher.

After Bert Bauer died on GUIDING LIGHT, fans expected the show to continue with Ed and Mike front and center, and even Hillary. But Mike and Hillary weren't long for Springfield, and Ed was on the canvas off and on by the late 1990s.

Hillary died over a year before Bert was said to have passed away - Charita Bauer was even in those funeral scenes for Hillary.

Mike was gone by fall 1984, again, over a year before Bert passed away.

This was a solid list till the top 5. The Unabortion the bigest soap blunder ever? It may deserve to be on the list but most definetly not #1

I think the 25 list as a whole was good but I think they get too caught up in specifics in some instances. I am glad they brought up Michael Zaslow because the way he was treated was truly putrid by P&G

I know they want to be timely, and get attention, and I do think cancelling OLTL was a mistake, but I don't understand why that was in the top 5. It's already too late, most likely, for daytime as we know it, and this is supposed to be about 70 years of history, not 70 weeks.

A few I would have put on there:

- Introducing Kimberly and the Novaks to Ryan's Hope, and failing to properly adjust Pat and Mary after the original actors left

- AW decimating the Matthews family

- P&G appointing John Valente and Black and Stern to take over ATWT

- Bob Guza being allowed to shat all over GH for 15 years

- New World locking the Dobsons out of Santa Barbara

- Saying that Victor Lord molested Viki

The initial story was good - and Erika Slezak's work is chilling - but it wasn't worth what was to come. Add in Noble Rapist #1 and Noble Rapist #2 and it's a living hell.

WTF? OLTL cancellation? Worst than the lack of diversity, among others?

Get the [!@#$%^&*].

I chalked that up to the view from "inside the bubble."

As they say in 12-step groups: Your best thinking got you here.

The unabortion was bad but #1? Above hiring of Frons? Dont think so.

Glad to see the cancellation of OLTL make the Top 5 :)

While I agree that all those on the lists are blunders the order of most is not at all were I would of put them.

I absolutely love & adore that pic they used for the unabortion part every time I see it wub.png What a beautiful family with so much potential. Loved them together so much. I loved Josh, big as a mistake he was. lol.

Yeah...out of the top 5 I agree with the firing of Michael Zaslow the most. Frons should have been number 1. Ridiculous.

I think that anything that was true for the genre or for multiple shows trumps anything that wasnetwork-, show- or story-specific. For example, diversity or over-reliance on cliches had a far more destructive effect on the genre than the unabortion (story), Zaslow (show) or Frons (network). YMMV of course.
