I reiterate what I amended my original post with: not everyone has heard or read the blind item, apparently; and I'm probably the idiot just for alluding to it. So, in the interest of moving on, let's just do so. Good?

You know what the show should have done? They should have made Mookie, Randi's brother. All we know of her backstory is that she was in fostercare wtih Carmen. They could have used this story to expand upon her childhood and introduced him as her brother. Maybe they went into fostercare after their mother died or maybe the mom was awful and lost custody of them. They got seperated in the system and she grew up to be a hooker and he grew up to be an abuser. Their relationship would put her at odds with Frankie as he has a natural instinct to want to protect Maya and Randi feels responsible for her brother. Lucy would be her niece and so she'd have a biological interest in her. If the show werent cancelled on ABC, Maya would get Lucy after the truth was revealed but in a few months, gets killed off. Mookie feels he cant raise the child and signs away all rights to Randi who steps up and wants to raise the baby (after learning she cant have kids). Angie of course wants her back and Jesse supports this as the only thing that can heal the hole in her heart is to have her baby back. A custody battle would then ensue between Randi/Frankie vs Angie/Jesse. That could be setup for some intereting drama.

Either way, Mookie would've been as useful to the show as Randi has been...which is to say, not at all.

What they should have done is 1) come up with a name other than "Mookie"; 2) cast the role with someone who could, you know, act?; and 3) reveal Mookie to be Jesse's nephew by his brother, Eugene (Tom Wright). That way, Lucy still would be a Hubbard biologically, and Maya and the baby would remain inside that family's orbit for some time to come.

In an ideal world I agree with you. But Jacob already confirmed that Babe came back for him. I think the show is setting up Babe being back to send JR off the way they came on the show originally and the way they originally wanted to leave it, with them running off in the sunset together with AJ to California.

Colin wouldn't comeback for that. It makes no sense for him to comeback for an episode or two to tell the audience that he isn't really Erica Kane's son and undermine all of the story he played for four years. It makes no sense for him to do that. He is also apart of bigger projects now, I doubt AMC is even on his radar.

First of all, who said it had to be Colin? Second, who said it had to be for "an episode or two"? Don't you think 1) there's a way he might not be Greg and Emily Madden's son (I only suggested that as a possibility); and that 2) Erica helping her "son" find his true identity while still forming a mother-like attachment to him would be a good story to carry through to PP?

The whole Josh discussion was brought up as a possibility that he might be the man for Erica who David has down in his basement. I personally don't think they are bringing him back, nor do I think they were ever considering bringing him back. His very existence was too controversial in the first place and no writer seemed to want to touch him with a ten foot pool after Megan exited the building even when he was on the canvas and could have been utilized as a male lead. Keep in mind he was a Kane. A male Kane. Any other writer under any other circumstances would have went to town with this especially for an AMC under Frons male centered ABC daytime rule. I don't see why Broderick would want to bring him back it would be far easier for her to bring back one of Erica's thousand love interests then to bring back a son who was hated on spot for what he did to Erica's historical abortion and is arguably considered one of the worst moments of AMC for the last decade. I don't think PP would even want Josh back either due to the resentment he generated in most viewers.

As to the episode or two line I made a comment on, that was said because we have information on everything on the show except for the last two weeks. There simply isn't enough time for Josh to make an appearance, have his heritage screwed with and have it be even remotely satisfying and interesting before the show goes off the air to lead us to PP in January. It's simply too much story in too little a time frame. The problem with a lot of the long lasting returns as we have seen with Dixie herself.

Where & when has Jacob said that? I don't recall him saying anything like that & even at fan events he played around the whole thing.

I do know that AH gave an interview w/ yahoo & I believe she said she would be shooting with Jacob.

Jacob has been making choice comments that have been setting Jabe up in interviews. He said that 'someone from the dead will be coming back for JR' after Cady came back as Dixie and then he said that Babe was his one true love. I would say that all but confirms JR and Babe are outlined as going off in the sunset together which was originally what was planned for them in 08' prior to Baker Babe's death. JR losing control of his monetary assets, burning bridges with his family and his friends, isolating himself further from all his ties to PV by spiraling downward and his upcoming foreclosure storylines, etc. so he can run off with Babe in the finale. That's my take on it. I wouldn't be surprised if that is the way it's all working out.

Alexa has all but confirmed that Babe is alive but she has been trying to keep it a secret. She did say that the Chandlers were in for a shock when she returns.

And I'm no longer watching.

Kudos to Lorraine Broderick, she made Ellen Wheeler not look so bad. GL in it's last days

was a joke but I still watched, amc has become an atrocity & I honestly can't wait for the crap to just be over.

It truly is a shame that this fine soap is ending like this.

    • Agreed. The Emmys next year are gonna be a pretty tough competition and I hope we get a Days sweep lol  Not only does Deidre deserve a nomination for these last few weeks, but I also think Paul Telfer, Raven Bowens, Carson Boatman, Dan Feuerriegel and Alison Sweeney have good chances as well.
    • It’s not about a lack of faith and trust in MVJ, it’s about a a lack of faith and trust in Ron Carlivati, who I think can be very sneaky and manipulative when he wants to be.  And, all that “He’s just a breakdown writer” talk never changed my mind about anything, because at Days, it was “just a breakdown writer” that gave us some of the worst episodes I’ve ever seen.

    • I think they’re desperately trying to cover his awful tattoos. But anyway them being unable to style short kings properly has been a major pet peeve of mine for a while now.  I honestly don’t understand what some people expect from actors to even begin considering them for recognition. Let’s be real—awards mostly mean that an actor is respected by their peers and has some level of cultural relevance. Actual judgment on the acting itself? That’s often secondary—highly subjective and shaped by the times. I completely agree on both points. If you’re an actor or a dancer you shouldn’t get any tattoos (sorry not sorry). Tomas’ tattoos are ugly too. And regarding the couples- you’re completely right. These writers are unable to write romance.   Further comments: - Kat cannot be this dumb to keep tampering with evidence over and over again. And I’m officially not a fan of the actress—every time she’s in a scene with Leslie, she doesn’t seem intimidated at all. She plays it like comic relief, which is just too much, especially when paired with Leslie’s histrionics and over-the-top antics. Leslie is older, dangerous, and has literally been portrayed as homicidal—Kat should be at least a little scared. • I also didn’t like Kat playing damsel in distress with the hotel manager. It gave off the same weird energy as Dani with the cop. I would’ve much preferred the version Paul Raven suggested, with her sneaking in through housekeeping. • And yes, Dani again accused Hayley of faking the pregnancy—this time even specifying she might be using a pillow under her shirt. (No fake miscarriage being mentioned) I stand by my take: this is ridiculous writing. No one in the real world—except us, the chronically online soap watchers—would even think of such a conspiracy theory. Haley is no Beyoncé. • What in the world was Chelsea wearing in her hair the other day? And this whole thing with Madison is beyond cringe. Chelsea’s coming off as needy and toxic—basically like every other Dupree. • I’m glad the casino storyline is moving forward, but it’s still boring as hell. Honestly, I’d be so here for a plot twist where Vanessa and Doug take Joey out. • The direction and editing lately have been rough. Abrupt cuts, weird pacing… something just feels off overall. There’s a strange uneasiness to how it’s all coming together. • And finally: Tomas is too much of a saint. Where are the messy sluts when you need them? (Vanessa doesn’t count.)
    • I was watching some August 1987 episodes and they brought back so many memories. I had some thoughts: Lisa and Jamie were so dull. Lisa was such a nothing character. It boggles my mind that so much story was centered around her in such a short amount of time. Joanna Going is a talented actress, but the material was just not there.  It was so good to see Wallingford and Mitch again. I know there was talk about Felicia a while back, but these episodes reminded me how integral Felicia was for the show.  Sally Spencer was done so dirty. She is turning in superb performances in an icky storyline. I wish she had stuck around longer. She has chemistry with everyone. The McKinnons should have lasted longer. Spencer had some strong stuff with Stephen Schnetzer and Mary Alexander. AW waster such a talented actress by getting rid of her. Justice for Cheryl too. I also missed Ed Fry when he left. Sandra Ferguson was a star from the moment she came on. She was charismatic and just popped. She had immediate chemistry with RKK and blended in well with Wyndham and Watson. I'd forgotten about the teenage Matthew.  I have no memory of Peggy Lazarus. She must not have lasted long. Was the original plan for John that he was going to turn out to be the twins' real father?
