It wasn't for long. I guess he was one of the former soap names they threw at Emma Samms to try to make her comeback work (Randolph Mantooth was another).

Some full July 1996 episodes being uploaded.

This was the period when the destruction of the Q seeds were planted. I hate the characterization here. Ned is a pompous jerk who looks down on his family. The writing is bent to make Edward automatically in the wrong, and everyone starts getting reason to not want to be a Q. Ned, Lois, Jason, Emily, Justus, Dillon...all useless. That said at least they were alive.

Guza hated the family and you could tell.

I didn't care very much for that era, I was mostly posting for those who did. Generally if I see Ned I skip it.

I feel like no one really cared for the Quartermaines except Douglas Marland.

[!@#$%^&*]. Forgot about Wendy Riche.

So, that's two people who cared for the Q's.

Okay, three (Claire Labine).

I think Labine mostly just cared about the "good" Quartermaines, which, along with the constant loudmouth shaming sessions from Lois, allowed Guza to have more room to destabilize them in the mid/late 90's. Which Riche did nothing to stop.

I think Rena Sofer was the one who said it best: "The Quartermaines put the 'fun' in dysfunctional."

Even though my family is nowhere near as dysfunctional (or wealthy!!) as the Qs, we certainly have had our moments!! LOL

The headline on the cover is a trifle misleading, though. It makes it sound as if Denise Alexander and John Beradino were 1) together, and 2) new parents.

The family aspect of GH wasn't as prevalent on GH after Marland left. I think I read somewhere that Gloria Monty didn't care for the family aspect of soaps.
