I swear, I've seen snuff films that took more care in the production and gave their actors more to work with than what Frank, CVE and Korte keep giving GH and its' actors everyday.

You would more than likely be correct though. It's probably why we have been mentioning over the last two weeks how disjointed the show has been, reducing to Y&R's current technique of telling rather than showing when things happen like Jason/Britt sleeping together or Anna's escape (which I started to get to in my binge). And even if it was not shown due to an upcoming twist, that is just horrible that she just 'pops up' after a very actual well done IMHO cliffhanger that didn't get touched on for a week. I mean REALLY?

No, I'm okay with never seeing Jason and Britt have sex, lol!

RE: GF's 50th anniversary next year - I'd love to know WEHT Stacey Baldwin (a.k.a. the first Laura) and whether she'd be up for a cameo appearance if/when we get to that milestone.

LoL. And I'm not mistaken...cuz haven't seen the episode in full yet...there was even an editing mistake within it as well. So Frank must have been off work that day. ;)

OOooo. Possible.

Nobody’s car even slid off the road! Monty would have wiped out some of those kids in a bus crash!

Oddly I think Monty was one of the few GH producers for many years before or after who didn't kill off a lot of kids, although I am probably forgetting someone.

You are correct. But she did used to joke that there were too many kids and it might be time for a bus accident.

Actually killing kids was not in the nature of what she did at GH. Her mantra was a mix of Hitchcock and Capra, and pure entertainment. They didn’t do a lot of tragedy. The DL Brock storyline is a real outlier for her tenure on the show, focusing on domestic violence towards the end.

Oh, if only she knew, lol.

Because, with David Groh, it's a safe bet that the story will end in either heartbreak or violence or both. (See: "Rhoda," "Murder, She Wrote" and "Law & Order," lol).

Since it was pointed out earlier online and we know how much I love her...

...today is/was the 49th anniversary of Genie Francis stepping into the role of Laura.

In awe, but I do hope that we are getting something for her 50th next year.

It’s pretty incredible to watch the show from the summer on the run story to her exit, and think about how much pressure that amount of work was for a teenager. Her earlier stories were also very gritty and mature, but when Luke and Laura took over the show she was on 4-5 days a week in some capacity for like two years.

Which is why it pisses me off to no end how shabbily TPTB have treated her over the years; because, IMO, she, and not Gloria Monty or Douglas Marland, is the one who saved GH from cancellation.

I truthfully don’t think Genie, Jackie Zeman, and Kin Shriner get the credit they are due for the audience they brought to the show with that story. I have respect for Tony Geary and how the audience embraced Luke, and I get the phenomenon that L&L became. When you watch the whole episodes of that time it is clear why they are considered special. But I don’t think any of it happened without Genie as Laura.

Sorry - I'd never heard that quote. I understand now.

There is definitely a lot of Frank Capra in her show. These people all knew and loved each other well, year after year. The Labine years have some of that too but on a slightly smaller and more intimate scale.

WEHT poor Alice Grant? Did she die? I was a bit flummoxed seeing her still tending house a year or two after killing Diana Taylor.
