Love Is a Many Splendored Thing Top 5. This must have been its peak period.

Considering the ATWT lead in, those ratings were understandable.

This is when Irna Phillips departed and the ATWT ratings softened, finally being beaten out of #1 soap spot by GH and DOOL. That led to LIAMST dropping as well.

With the 2024 year-end "Days" research mostly completed now, I will now have some time to start working on the 1974 charts. We pick back up with the weeks of 1/28/74 and 2/4/74 (the last two weeks of Secret Storm, and also two weeks that were both won by Days!)

Even with DOOL #1, Doctors #2 and AW #4 as lead ins How To Survive A Marriage lost 3 rating points. OK it was early days, and it will be interesting to see if there is any upward movement.

Seems like NBC viewers refused to stick around after AW finished. Bright Promise and Return to Peyton Place both failed in that timeslot. NBC must have been hoping for 3rd time lucky.

Was HTSAM just not appealing? Viewers switched to March Game and One Life to Live.
