The week of 1/6/75 was the first week Another World aired its hour long episodes.  The hourlong AW actually gave Somerset a tiny bump in the ratings.  I wonder how many times How to Survive a Marriage aired the week of 1/6/75 since it was cancelled to give AW that extra half hour?

As the chart shows, "How" aired the entire week of 1/6/75. The original "Jeopardy!" (3/30/64-1/3/75), which got an 8.3/24 its final week on the air, was cancelled. "How" had aired 60 episodes in the 330PM time slot that season, finishing with a 6.1/20 average through 1/3/75. "How" took over the "Jeopardy" 130PM time slot with a special hour episode on 1/6/75 (preempting "Days" that day). "How" itself was cancelled on 4/18/75, when "Days" expanded to an hour on 4/21/75.

Lin Bolen wanted to "freshen up" the game show lineup and bring in younger demos, so to that end, she steadily canceled every game that looked stodgy with "Jeopardy!" being the last casualty. It DID trigger a clause in Merv's contract with NBC in that he was allowed to replace it with another show, which ended up being "Wheel of Fortune".

    • I don't mind them gathering fan feedback as they move forward with the story. Just be careful, the loudest fans are not always right.

Bite your tongue because I think they're setting up a "Who Shot Bill?" story.  I got that too, very similar to Bianca and Erica. I didn't care for Dani barging into Bill and Hayley's home. If you can't find peace in your house, then where? Dani needs to be stopped. I could see if Bill had a housekeeper who was friendly with Dani and was giving Hayley a hard time.  Me neither. They were the highlight of the episode.

    • It's honestly the ugliest outfit in the world.
    • @DRW50 Thanks for the tag. Amazing find. I am with you on Jenny's impact, I also think it would have made a fascinating watch as Greg stayed around much longer. I'm such a softie for anything Jesse/Jenny related. Remember, someone posted his touching Eulogy at her funeral a few years ago.
    • I really need a new day in Port Charles to never see Brook Lynn in that hideous clown-ass outfit again.
    • I think GM would’ve worked as a recast Cam too The storyline could’ve even been that Cam was still learning the violin over the last year and the Nurses Ball was meant to be his big break. And it would’ve been nice to see Cam move on with Emma
