I just started watching the Rotterdam episodes - when I first watched the show, the Morocco storyline and the Rotterdam storyline were my two favorites of 1994.

And while I was unimpressed by the Morocco/Princess Laila storyline this time around, I have to say the Rotterdam storyline is still epic and holds up as one of my favorite parts of the show ever. The excitement of a stadium full of people singing along to the entire concert, the backstage drama with Macy's illness, the airplane scenes that range from hilarious to heartbreaking, the awesomely heartwarming moment when lifelong rivals Eric and Sally embrace triumphantly after having saved the show together for their children's sake, Thorne and Macy's connection on and off stage, Sally being larger than life in everything she says and does... and knowing that these four actors actually did this journey and this concert together for real and that all the audience reactions are real. The show has never done anything quite like it before or since.

During my first viewing many moons ago as a teen, I was quite surprised that Stephanie and Eric were so anti-Dylan - I simply did no get the antagonism. It's not like he is a 60+ sugar-daddy, wearing ripped leather jeans and riding a bike plus having a criminal record the size of Italy - actually, I always thought that Dylan was very un-edgy.  That made it all the more ridiculous. I was still somewhat invested in that storyline. Cue to 2022, I expect to simply HATE Stephanie and Eric and be ANNOYED by Dylan and Jessica because they are super boring. Did they have anything which qualified as a set of friends or storlyine? WIth Michael's and Jasmine's arrival it got much better, but the first 10 (?) are probably dreadful.

Stephanie is lost as a character 1994 and 1995. She basically lacks a storyline and it's disturbing that Brad gives her only obsessing with a teen and her sex life. And with Brooke basically just being Happy... the show has lost all its stake and drama. Now with Taylor returning some of the antagonism and problems are coming back and I can't wait.

But. The show has been damaged. Me and my partner agreed. It hasn't been the same the past 200...300 episodes.  RIP classic amazing Bold.

It truly is a frustrating thing to watch when two powerhouses like Stephanie and Sally have nothing better to do than fight over the love life of a 17 year old.

But other than that, I'm actually looking forward to the early 1995 storylines - Taylor returning to LA, Sheila going crazy, Ivana's murder. Those are all high stakes storylines.

Jessica's storyline is really the one that drains the energy out of the show. The rest is actually getting good right about now (I am currently watching Dec 1994 episodes). But from the moment she came on the show in the summer of -94, I felt a shift in tone. She just doesn't fit very well into the show as a whole (note that Jessica never played any part in a storyline other than her own, but *everyone* is somehow drawn into hers).

Bradley took over B&B around the time Reilly's Days was taking off so early Bradley B&B seems stale compared to what was happening on Days in that same time. We all know that Reilly's Days blew up in the aftermath of OJ and that overlapped w/ Y&R going off track and B&B tanking.

Yes, I remember that. I just am thinking the Videoland version will be even better quality than the great quality version that’s on there. It seems to be in HD when it comes from Videoland, and now that I heard that episodes are being uploaded without subtitles, it would be great to see! I’m just interested in that one because it has Sheila telling Mike about the farmhouse fire and the flashback scenes and it’s one of the very first clips I ever saw of B&B on YouTube when it was on there in less than stellar quality years ago. So it holds a bit of sentimentality. I hope the Videoland angel doesn’t skip the episode just because it’s uploaded from a different source. The colors seem to pop more on the Videoland uploads too versus any other official source.

If you’re seeing this, uploader of the Videoland episodes, please make sure to record and upload episode 1985 without the subtitles in HD when it gets added to the site!!

    • Also, isn’t there supposed to be a storyline with Mariah and Tessa? Mariah cheating or something (keeping some kind of secret) and they were only on screen 2 and 3 times this month. Like what? How am I supposed to care when I barely see them?
    • Definitely wouldn't trust Dinah right now haha.  But that's great to know Billy comes back soon!  I'm excited for that. If he's at the boardinghouse, then I guess he does get closer to Nola perhaps, and then he'll be around Peter/Bridget and J, who is currently in his orbit along with Michelle and Dahlia, and Marcus is at the boardinghouse, so maybe they go the teenage story route most of this time until Billy gets back.
    • Sounds like me, but I prefer to be referred to as Contessa. We all know I can go a long time not paying attention to certain things.  And, if I might add, hey there dude, you effed up pretty good this time and I think this was your last chance. So don't let the door hit you in your behind as you go BYE MOMMY!
    • That did cross my mind at first, but I'd be more inclined to believe it if this didn't involve Trump. I'm not at all sure he is capable of being that sneaky. Of course, there's always a possibility I guess that his advisors are doing it without telling him, but that seems awfully risky. Trump is such a loose cannon you can never predict what he's going to do or say.
    • Whoa. She should have fought like hell to get that. Was it the greatest show ever? No, but it had a fantastic cast and was practically guaranteed to last multiple seasons because of its star power. Could have certainly led to bigger and better things. If it had flopped she could have always gone back to soaps. Judith Light broke through on a sitcom where she was basically second banana to Tony Danza. That grew into a very busy and distinguished career. The woman is still regularly booked to this day.
    • I could understand her being frustrated by the fact that she'd been in the business 10+ years at that point, and probably couldn't even get in the door. But then again, she'd already gone out for pilot season once (that we know of) and she and  her agent knew a 35-ish woman had a very difficult time in Hollywood. I know she did a few guest spots, but other than Designing Women, nothing I saw--not even a Murder She Wrote, and that show had tons of ex-soapers on it. I mean, God bless Marilu Henner, but even having been on Taxi, she couldn't get arrested for years either.
    • I didn't rewatch that period, so I'm not really sure how much Bill is on. I recall something about him living at the boardinghouse. I think Van made Matt his guardian, and why she didn't name Josh would be a mystery to me, other than the HW decided they needed to keep Bill in Matt's sphere. Nola is also his aunt, although they don't know each other well, and Van wouldn't have trusted her anyway. There's Dinah---but she's unreliable. Billy gets out of jail around NYE.

    • That's on Kimmer. As someone posted above...she was offered roles in pilots but she would be part of an ensemble or supporting. She didn't want that so she came back to GL. I don't know what she thought would happen..someone offering her "Here's Kimmer!" or The "Zimmer Comedy Powerhouse Hour" variety show..but her housefrau fans did not have the same pull in HW as they did on the soaps. Forbes and Watros knew that you had to take small parts to get noticed ands start a career in primetime. I know she was in consideration for the wife in Evening Shade, but when you go up against Marilou Henner, the soap diva looses. I could see her frustrated in a role like that, where she has to be the understanding wife with a bit of sass, but she could have made it work, if it wasnt for her huge ego.  I think it would have been an issue haveing all the powerhouse comedy actors surrounding...(lets face it..Alice Ghostly woudl have wiped the floor with her...) but it would have been a good launching padd.
