The official channel is going straight into Season 19! Let's hope all these episodes are HD because another one today (4628) is 360p - strange given the previous version loaded to the channel in 2020 was 480p. Thankfully the DVD version of this episode is in the vault (Aug 05).

Episodes 7800 to 7844 have recently been released on DVD in Germany:
https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0F2XD369X

In 2011, the first box sets were released, starting with episode 1. After 10 sets, the series was put on hold for a while. In 2024, a new edition was released, followed by Box Vol. 12 in February 2025, featuring episodes 250 to 300. The older episodes are now labeled "Wie alles begann" (How It All Began), while this new box is called "Eine neue Ära" (A New Era), because they stopped showing B&B in 2011. In 2023, a different channel bought new episodes and skipped several years in the process. Nobody watched the newer episodes so the show was canceled once again.

Random 1990 thoughts (up to September):

-Felicia seems like a do-over of the failed Kristin character, and goes over many of the same story beats (joining FC, fighting with Stephanie & Margo), and it works much better. If you look up Dion, she's the queen of 1 (contract) and done across many shows.

-Hilarious that Kristin didn't bother to say goodbye to Felicia or Thorne when she left. BYE!

-The Jake storyline is OK, though it does make Margo look pretty bad. She wasn't the least bit curious what her brother was up to in the 10 years since he ran away at 14? It's not like she was ever shown to care about her parents any point on the show before. The misuse of Koslow continues to be a problem, but at least this is better than her 88-89 stories.

-Macy quickly went from one of my favorites to FF material the minute she started singing with Thorne.

-Caroline's death was well done but it's pretty jarring that Bill doesn't seem to morn at all for his daughter. A week or so afterwards he's feuding with Sally or chatting with Margo about other stuff. Speaking of, Margo wasn't invited to her farewell party?

-Taylor replacing Caroline as the virtuous heroine is not subtle at all, from taking her spot in the credits to Ridge macking on her right way after his wife's death. The tradition of all doctors being interchangeable gets its start here, as in a matter of weeks she's an oncologist, then Storm books a GP appointment with her, and most clunky of all Felicia just dips in to her office to talk about Jake not getting down with her.

-On the Logan front, the new Storm is awful. The original had a wholesome quality that was a good contrast to the slick Forrester/Spencer men. This one is a typical yuppie that they aged 10 years for some reason. The phasing out of Donna is sad, but the actress keeps delivering on the scraps they give her. She is written like the sad-sack Katie at this point.

-The biggie - Brooke & Eric hooking up, is not as strongly written as I hoped it would be. Obviously, the Brooke & Stephanie confrontations are great. But the problem is that it's the only interpersonal conflict that rings true. The Logan sisters seem to think its great - I guess to be charitable maybe they think it'll keep their parents together? I get Thorne not being thrilled, but his sudden trashing of Brooke as a gold digger seems way out of character. A weird choice too that Ridge doesn't seem to care at all.

Felicia intro overlaps with Kristen being on the way out. For whatever reason, Bill Bell didn't explore the Forrester daughters relationship. If Kristen stayed, I could totally see a Kristen/Clarke/Felicia triangle unfolding. I remember some flirtation between Felicia and Clarke but Bill Bell didn't expand on it.

Lauren Koslow daughter was born October 1990 so her pregnancy leave would've been during the fall, unless she took a longer pregnancy leave starting in the summer.

Agree that Taylor pretty much replaced Caroline.

I don't think Eric/Brooke was Bill Bell original plan, but I feel that storyline happened because of KKL real-life pregnancy. Bill Bell dusted off two Y&R storylines (Phillip/Jill/Katherine and Stuart/Jill/Liz) for that storyline.

Bell didn't explore Kristen's relationship with anyone from her family, save for the first 6 months or so when Stephanie was jealous of her relationship with Eric. I suspect that because the actress performer was a rare one who had no chemistry with Susan Flannery, Bell dropped it and transferred those elements to Stephanie's obsession with Ridge. After that, the Forresters only paid attention to Kristen to advance a Clarke plot-point.

At about 17 minutes there's a behind the scenes feature on Sheila's 1995 stay in the nuthouse, including interviews with Kimberlin Brown, Faith Minton and Spice Williams (who played two of Sheila's tormentors).

B&B was tanking second half of 1995 (that overlapped w/ Y&R being off-track mainly because Nick/Sharon were eating the show and Reilly Days blowing up) thus Sheila return and Lauren moving over from Y&R. By 1996 Sheila and Lauren were hardly in each other's orbits.

Sheila second run (1995-1998) there were signs she was getting played out. After that, Sheila became Bradley's break glass in case of emergency character.

I agree with this 100 percent. Her 2002 stint was very entertaining... but everything after that has been horrible. Sheila lost her soul. She became a one-note caricature. The idea of Erica being a second generation Sheila could have been nice... but Bradley f-cked that up too.

2016's return was exciting... for like 5 episodes. Then it became obvious Bradley only wants to shoot meaningless catfights for ratings. Quinn vs Sheila never worked for me. It was too over the top. Both were nasty human beings and they both lacked substance. It became something like Alien vs Predator type of trash.

The most recent return... 2021... till today... has been a complete disaster. Sheila is no longer Sheila. I have no idea what or who she is. My local McDonalds cashier-lady is more menacing than her... at this point.

I'm up to January 1996 in my rewatch, where Ridge finds the faked letter from Dr Tracy Peters. It would appear the suspects are both Mike Guthrie and Sheila. Tracy was killed by mugging the night before in the hospital parking lot when Brooke and Ridge go to get her take on the letter. I'm not up to a revisited paternity test yet where Eric's revealed to be the father, and if memory serves from my original viewing, we never got to find out who planted the letter, and who killed Tracy? Does anyone know if there was a common viewer take on who did both (the letter and the killing)? Even though Mike wasn't known to be a killer, his behavior and anger towards Brooke seems to suggest he was the one who did both. Sheila certainly seemed shocked by it all when Ridge came to confront her and throttle her. What does everyone else who has seen this sequence think as to who the culprit was?
