Shout-out to all Trivia and History Buffs out there!

In Episode 1131 from September 1991 there is - to my recollection the first hint that B&B and Y&R exist in the same universe - because Thorne and Jake talk about FENMORE'S Department stores. Little did we know that 12 months later, Sheila & Lauren would collide on B&B!?

I read that In the 4th of July episodes that year both Y&R and B&B made references that acknowledge they are in the same universe. Leanna does say to Rex she’s wearing a “Sally Spectra” suit and I think Macy also mentioned Fenmores to Jake in that episode.

That's brilliant, yet something we will overlook LOL

I believe it's twitter superfan Matt Hanvey who sells them, and gave one to KKL as a gift. Susan seemed to get a laugh out of seeing the top! It was so wonderful seeing all of them together like this. I really miss Stephanie, and even though I dislike Ridge as a character, the reunion kind of made me miss his Ridge too.

*****************************

In my B&B re-watch I've just watched Deveney Dixon's (Angela Forrester) final, abrupt exit.

Does anyone know why that storyline was ceremoniously dropped like a hot potato, never to be mentioned again? This was my first time viewing it as I missed it on original airing while on vacation. I knew it would end abruptly from what I'd been told, but this to me would have to count as B&B's first major storyline that was just dismissed like it never happened. Angela Who?

I wonder if they would dare to bring the character back after all these years to perhaps wreak vengeance on Stephanie's namesake. Could make for a great story...not that most viewers would have been watching way back in 1989, so it's unlikely we will ever see Deveney again (even if re-cast)!

I like TK and his Ridge is a richer character but I like to pretend he is just a different character who arrived after something happened to the original. You can literally picture everything that has happened to Ridge since TK took over happening to Nick and making more sense.
There was not much to like in the original, certainly not the acting, but he still was Ridge, stiff pompous wishy-washiness and all.
I remember reading lots of blind items in the year before it happened (that only became clear after the fact that it was about RM) that a certain producer was putting out feelers to an actor he had in mind and thus calling the chicken game of a certain diva actor who was certain his "iconic" role could never be recast and was being a pain.
Talk about a "I am walking out unless..." that seriously backfired but to be fair, I would not have bet a dime on BB having the guts to recast AND finding a way for the recast to work and still be there 8 years later (!).
I also expected, frankly, TK to get bored but I guess, like Heather Tom, the work must be really comfortable for older actors who want to earn a living acting but are kind of over the hustle.

That was a funny story Ronn Moss told about calling Susan “mother” when they first met and her telling him seriously to “never call her that!” Im glad he found it hilarious because I’d probably want to avoid SF like the plaque if I had that awkward of a first encounter. Im glad they are all so close though!

Y&R episode of Friday December 22, 1989. Bill Bell had Marge watch B&B since it was his other show, but I guess he wasn't thinking ahead to potential crossovers at that time.

Was this when Bradley was trying to recast Ridge with Peter Reckell?

    • But how is it "apparent" that she signed a new 3-year contract? Your wording had a voice of authority -- as if you knew it was true. A better way to post about it? Say you read online that she signed a new contract, but have no idea if that's true.
    • This interview actually reminds me a bit of Kim Zimmer’s press during the infamous clone storyline on Guiding Light, or Deidre Hall during the possession story on Days. All three were seasoned daytime veterans who made it clear they valued airtime for their characters, not just being part of a romantic pairing. It seems that idea was part of the pitch behind these bigger-than-life plots. They all took big swings in their performances. When I read Kim Zimmer’s memoir, I thought she captured it best — she wanted to be respected for being willing to take those risks. To paraphrase her, she knew it was ridiculous for Reva to think she was pregnant after menopause, but she still threw herself into those scenes and made them real. That’s what really struck me about Victoria Wyndham’s interview too. She responded like a real person. It felt like she was telling Michael Logan that she knew Justine — and a geriatric pregnancy with twins — was totally preposterous, but that she still deserved credit for trying to keep the show alive and entertain the audience. And honestly, I think that's more than fair. Logan is looking for a reductive answer for who is to blame.  And, she's telling him to accept that they were all well-meaning.  Which is not a defense of bad storytelling.  But, I understand that she's frustrated because she interpreted Logan's critique as a lack of commitment, and she wants him to know that she was committed! (maybe not for the best, but committed).
    • Fine, you only had to say so. It's not a problem to me NOT to post this. I have no idea what this means.
    • Oh, really? I think we're really getting close.  What does "apparently" mean to you? To me, it means that this is something I think has happened but not something I absolutely positively know to have happened. When I use a word like "apparently" as I have here, I am doing so by intent. Can you think of a better way to communicate that?
    • Wow...I was not expecting a montage.   I know SilkPress did not!!! Poor Eva.  Lol. Funnily enough I missed that.
    • For the record, VW thought having the twins at their ages was absurd & who wanted that story, was some group of fans, who wanted her & Carl to have a chance at having children together. Not any fans that I knew of, but supposedly they existed.
    • Brandon Tartikoff saved NBC primetime. Brandon Stoddard got ABC Tuesday to rebound and put an end to the Aaron Spelling hit factory.
    • Awwwww Brad. I know I shouldn't, but I feel bad for him

And yeah, agreed that Dante having animosity towards Gio is very forced and contrived. And it also has me concerned that it means the reveal won't be happening anytime soon.
    • God, I love that woman. Another amazing interview!!
    • We can only guestimate based on other characters. Chelsea was said to be 23 in the first episodee and based on Marttin wanting to run for President in the next election, he's about 30/31. Eva and and Kat are somewhere between that  so Id say closer to 25 or 26
