Aww see I love Eric. I think he's very underused and I hated Brady with Arianna and Nicole. And now they are throwing him at Melanie? I actually

thought he and NL's Taylor had good acting chemistry probably because they were at the same level and their scenes were very natural and unforced.

Another example of Days not following whats organic versus forcing something. But EM at times plays Brady like a cartoon. But I honestly don't

think they give him much to work with.

EM is fine. WTF do people expect with the material they have given him. DAys writes for about 5 characters and the rest get nothing for the most part.

KL was fine but not irreplacable

I knew when I saw the thread title that it would be Louise. As much as I'm loving what Corday had to say about the future of DAYS, I still think there are lots of characters that should have gone before Vivian (Daniel, Melanie, Dario, Roman, and Taylor to name some). There are endless story possibilities with her- Kate, Victor, and Maggie are still on the canvas. I'd even like to see her get with Brady and do some plotting against the town. Maybe even make those island fantasies that Viv was having about Brady a reality.

Like you said, DF, Louise is a truly spectacular actress. I've loved her ever since I watched her as Augusta on Santa Barbara. She has the distinguishment of creating two of my all-time favorite soap characters- Augusta and Vivian. That says a lot about her talent.

I do think that she'll be far happier in New York and hope that this next chapter in her life brings her much joy & success. She deserves nothing but, as she's kept me laughing and entertained for three decades now.

I couldn't disagree with you more. Martsolf has actually made me fall in love with Brady, a character I once loathed. He's quite believable as the son of John & Isabella. He even has some of Drake's speech patterns and mannerisms.

Kyle Lowder was TERRIBLE in the role and certainly didn't look the part. I still have nightmares about he & Chloe singing "I am 16, Going on 17", dancing around the town like a couple of damn fools.

Louise is going to be 71 this year. That's far too late in the game to be doing anything that you aren't 100% thrilled with. New York is where she belongs. Writing is what she should be doing. Being happy is the aim of the game at this point.

In a way, I am happy Louise is exiting. She could not have been very satisfied with how things were progressing at DAYS. As Michael Logan pointed out, now she has LA and soap operas out of her system. I wish her all the happiness in the world, she deserves it. What a fabulous actress. She was something and we have been privileged to watch her performances on daytime for nearly 30 years.

The interview was great - Michael Logan clearly has so much respect for her. I'm glad Gary Tomlin at least tried to be kind to her as she left - from what she said before I don't think that effort was made the last time DAYS let her go. What I will miss most about Louise on soaps is that she is one of the final reminders of just how fascinating soap actresses used to be. You hang on their every word - just go back and read some Beverlee McKinsey interviews. Now that mystique is gone - the days of soap goddesses are impossible in an era of trash and misogyny.

It sucks that Louise never really got to finish out a character or have a big goodbye - her parting from SB was acrimonious and now she's being rushed out of DAYS, again.

Well she's not gone yet, she hasn't taped her last scenes, her contract runs through September, so since DAYS is so ahead that could keep her on screen till Christmas...though I doubt that's how DAYS is going to handle it. I think she'll leave swiftly. She actually had a nice exit from DAYS in 2000, quick though it was. Ivan won the lottery and he picked Vivian up in a limo and she waved farewell to Salem, it was cute.

I honestly think Ken Corday just cannot fire someone, he's got no balls to sit someone down and be straight with them. He just doesn't have it in him to bring down bad news to someone's face.

Gary Tomlin has class and it's clear he really respects Louise.

Say what you will about Vivian, but Louise Sorel, throughout her career, has set a standard of excellence that few actresses can attest to.

Louise is a fascinating woman and a phenomenal talent. I'm sorry we're losing her, but I am glad that she will return to her beloved New York and the life that she truly enjoys.

Yeah I liked her 2000 exit, I just thought it was all so abrupt. I don't think Vivian has had the grand stories that helped define her as a character.

It is when you're acting out a character who's supposed to be the son of John Black. He didn't have Drake's speech pattern and mannerisms on Passions, only on DAYS. It makes it more believable that he's John's son. It reminds me of John Allen Nelson's interpetation of Warren Lockridge on SB- he had Nicholas Coster's voice and mannerisms down pat. He sounded just like him! It made it far easier to accept him as Lionel's son.

Not to mention they had a TON of flashbacks in the episode. It was a true tribute to the character and actress.

I would definitely agree with you. That's what I love about Louise Sorel though, she MADE Vivian happen. She gave Vivian Alamain so many angles, such impressive definition, I cannot help but be amazed at her skill as an actress. She really gave a damn about the work too, much to her frustration and that of Corday and likely all writers that wrote for her.

But she cared and I think that's the thing I will always appreciate about her. She cared a great deal about the work, the character and the performance. Perhaps she cared too much from time to time, but that is the standard she worked at.

I am really sad for this industry. All of the glamour, all of the mystique, all of the legends, are gone. There are a handful of actresses, Louise Sorel, Beverlee McKinsey and Robin Strasser are the ones who come to mind, who never thought daytime was just fluff. To them, it was art.

Louise Sorel is just the best. This last year she spent a month frontburner with nobody acting beside her, just doing a daily monologue, and she made it entertaining.

I agree with whoever said they wanted to see a Vivian/Brady fling. It would have been amusing.
